Background

Fresca is a White Mage hailing from the outer Varrock region. Her younger days were spent working on her family's ranch, helping to raise the chocobos they bred. At the age of twelve, she went with her father to Varrock to help him sell a few of the birds when it was found that she had a great potential as a healer.

The Academy there trained her well, teaching her a variety of healing and bolstering enchantments. She was then sent to help the Doman Guard. At the castle, she was instructed in magicks that would allow her to dispel enchantments and further serve the nation.

However, Fresca was not happy as a Guardswoman. The work was often too rough for her likely, and a particularly bad run-in with some demons on the outskirts of the nation nearly left her with post traumatic shock syndrome. However, she found help in one of Doma's transient residents, Enlil. The angel listened to her problems, and helped her work through her trauma. Later, through Enlil, she met Kyle Broadsky.

Fresca quickly became enamored with the soft-hearted fencer, finding in him a soul as passive as her own. From him, she learned to assert herself better, and to follow her own dreams. As such, she has left the Doman Guard officially, and seeks to return to her roots as a chocobo rancher. Thus, she works to try and amass enough money to buy the land she needs for a ranch.

Fresca tries her best to be a friendly person, and to inspire goodwill in other people around her. However, when met with resistance, she will either withdraw into herself passively, or will explode from the frustration and spare the cause little anger or sarcasm. As of late, the latter has become more common

Spells and Techs

  • Skill Focus: White Magic: Allows Fresca to add the Ranks of this skill to any healing spell she casts.
  • [White=1]Cure (7 MP) - Heals one target, restoring 8+rank*2+1d6 HP. Some targets may be damaged for the same amount instead (undead, for example) and some may not be affected at all (powerful shadow-based creatures).
  • [White=4]Cure 2 (18 MP) - Heals one target, restoring 15+rank*4+2d6 HP. Some targets may be damaged for the same amount instead (undead, for example) and some may not be affected at all (powerful shadow-based creatures).
  • [White Magic=4, [s]Skill Focus: Healing Spells=4]Group Cure (24 MP) - Restores 10+rank*2+1d6 HP to up to rank specified targets.
  • [White Magic=4]Heal (14 MP) - Cleanses target of any unnaturally-caused affliction, such as poisoning, induced paralysis, induced insanity, etc. May not work against particularly strong versions of such, nor upon those wrought but natural causes; such as paralysis induced by a broken back (GM's discretion).
  • [Ben=3]Protect (10 MP) - Reduces Physical Damage by Rank+1d6 Points

  • [Chocobo Riding=4, [s]Chocobo Care and Handling=4] Mounted Combat (4TP for invoked ability) This allows Fresca to fight on chocobo Back with no Penalty. Or she may sacrifice her attacks and allow the mount to use its natural attacks (Peck for 18+1d6 with Blindness on a crit due to hitting eyes, or kick for 26+2d6) . For 4 TP, assuming her mount has room to run, she may do a charge to strike for double damage with her weapon, or allow her mount to trample a smaller foe or throw itself against a larger foe for 30+3d6 damage. Tramples require her to make a riding check to stay mounted.
  • [Chocobo Riding=5 [s]Chocobo C&H=5] Calm (TP Variable) This allows Fresca to approach a wild, unfamiliar, or hostile chocobo, calm it, and perhaps befriend it. A chocobo handling and Care Skill roll is required; success means that she can calm the bird before it makes any noise. For a tamed yet unfamiliar chocobo, there is no TP cost. For a wild chocobo, it costs 1 TP. For a hostile (tame or otherwise) chocobo, it costs 2 TP. Magical control may prevent this skill from working (GM's discretion)
  • [Chocobo Riding=6, Chocobo C&H=6] Call (TP Variable) This allows Fresca to call a non-hostile chocobo to her side with a successful chocobo H&C Roll. For tamed chocobos, there is no cost. For wild chocobos, it costs 3 TP. If used near a herd, Fresca may well draw several of the birds to herself with her call. (GM's Discretion :D)
