bipedal: On their homeworld of Draco, a ryuujin in this form might well be mistaken for an elf of the avian subrace; with trademark pointed ears, a light build, and a pair of large, feathered wings, the bipedal ryuujin sports the three primary characteristics with which most non-elves--and some elves--identify the avians. Some ryuujin, however, can train to 'meld' their wings into their backs whilst in bipedal form, with varying skill under durress.

Ryuujin have three eyes, two being placed where one would imagine and the third placed in the middle of the forehead. Completely unnoticeable when kept shut, most ryuujin tend to do just that except when under extremes of emotion when the eye may open involuntarily. What triggers loss of control over the third eyelid varies between individuals, as well as personal habits of voluntary control. As infants, ryuujin have no voluntary control of the third eye and learn this sometime before beginning to crawl.

The color of hair is usually related in some manner to the coloring of the feathers in all forms. Ryuujin have blue hair as frequently as Americans have brown hair; recessive genes sometimes express themselves in feather coloration, often alongside the dominant gene.

hybrid: A form between the bipedal and full ryuujin forms. Few ryuujin have the correct magical talent and training to create and utilize such a form for themselves.

A typical hybrid form is much like the ryuujin's bipedal form. However, the form additionally has tail, horns, fangs, and claws, and scales cover much of the arms and legs. None of these ryuujin traits, nor its wings, can be hidden as in bipedal form.

A hybrid is still capable of speaking most if not all languages its bipedal form can, albeit the fangs might add for a slightly different sound of things.

quadrapedal: The quadrapedal form is, typically, the natural or "birth" form of the ryuujin; most ryuujin do all that they can to give birth in ryuujin form as it ensures the best chance of survival for the infant. It is, however, possible for the birth form of a ryuujin to be the bipedal or elven form. An instance of ryuujin whose birth form is the hybrid form has never been recorded.

This form retains the feathered wings and third eye of previous forms. Also present is a tail, which would prove to form anywhere from half to two-thirds of the ryuujin's length--snout to tailtip--were it to be stretched out straight. The ryuujin is a smooth-scaled creature with minimal horns and frills--by and large, 'decorations' take feather form. Feather tufts may form by the cheeks or at the tail which are fully nonfunctional in flight.

Compared to Gaera's Aldrosian dragons, the full ryuujin form is slender and long. An average adult Aldrosian will average perhaps 40 feet in height, 25-40 in length (snout to tailtip), 20-30 in width (shoulder to shoulder), and have a wingspan 1.5 times its body length; the ryuujin, 15-25 feet in height, 45-60 feet in length (muzzle to tailtip), 10-20 feet in width (shoulder to shoulder), with a wingspan just a bit longer than its length. In geometric terms, the Aldrosian is much closer to being square-shaped with a tail and neck added on; the ryuujin, a rectangle plus a shorter neck.
