Guerrier Noble

While not unusually aggressive for his race and culture, Guerrier Noble--born Jacques Roux--was singularly ambitious. In his ambition he intended to unite all the tribes of the Woodlands, through any means necessary, and indeed he did.

Taking up the name Guerrier Noble, by the time the young usagijin had reached his 21st birthday he had already gone a long way toward unifying the northern tribes. With single-minded determination and what some considered to be unearthly--or unholy--energy, his campaign swept through the Woodlands like a forest fire. He reached his goal of uniting and ruling the entirety of the Woodlands by the age of 34.

Guerrier Noble's means of unifying the country left him ill-liked and gave not just a few ideas to other ambitious sorts. Legend claims that pure spite kept the usagijin alive and in power, against all attempts on his life and rule. In the end, he died at age 56 from illness. His wife, who had married him later in life and was similarly unpopular, was with him at his deathbed; shortly after his death she disappeared.

In the resultant power vacuum, many aspiring successors appeared, the majority of whom adhered to the same militant vein as Guerrier. The usagijin with the largest muscles came out on top of that group and briefly claimed leadership of the nation. However, the usagijin were tired of such harsh rule, and a man named Librae Llhomet found it easy to lead a successful revolt against the military leadership.
