"Valth is currently in a corporate civil war that has been going on for 120 years. People don't care about the reason behind this war anymore, instead desiring it to stop. Most of the length of the war can be attributed to mercenaries, who are hired out by the momentarily losing side. These mercenaries even out the strength of each side, and prolong and lengthen the war -- and thus provide themselves with more possible job opportunities.

"Valth has a caste system in use right now, with the predominant mindset being, 'the more pureblood, the better.' In other words, the higher percentage of 'pure' Valthi genes within you, the higher rank you have. People's ranks are identified by the tattoo on the individual's left forearm. There is one loophole, though, and that is receiving military training. In doing that, one becomes above a �pureblood� civilian in rank. However, that will not erase the first tattoo; instead, it gets added to it, and one still is recognized as what rank one was born as.

"Geography:

"Because the changing of seasons is difficult to tell, the Valth calendar consist of 4 different periods. Eiki ne Diriuto is "spring" or the time where the winter snows melt. Eiki de Eme is the time were the snows are completely melted and crops are planted. Nariki Eiki is strange because halfway through the season, it becomes too cold for normal crop plants to survive. It's like second half of summer+fall rolled up. And "Eiki de Tarumuko" is the frigid winter period susceptible to deadly blizzards. Since winter lasts so long, don't be suprised to find some Valthi, especially those of the lower sector to no know what year it is exactly.

"Religion:

The official state of Valth religion is atheist though foriegners and lower sector people still practice religion in the comfort of thier own homes. The Pureblooded Valthi, who are the primary rulers of Valth, are the major atheist.

"People:

Pure-blooded Valthi are top-class outside of military and gov't officials. The impure Valthi usuallly have Rivan ancestors - mainly because of the fact that Riva is the only country bordering Valth not divided by the Shuman range - and outnumber the pure-blooded Valthi. The government does not try to control immigration, necessarily, but attempt more to just to isolate the foriegners in general in the lower class sectors. Less impure Valthi can be found in the major cities, due to segregation or in the smaller cities, that haven't been divided into sectors yet."
