The Ebony Hoof is a small-scale inn of Baron's capital, run by an aging man named Bornkey.

The Hoof is a two-story building which keeps 10 rooms for rent. While not located in one of the most scenic sections of the capital, each room has a window. The windows allow for natural light during daytime and can be opened, closed, or covered with the provided thick drapery to adjust temperature.

The beds are comfortable, the rooms are kept clean, and the cost relative to the city is quite affordable. However, the rooms are small, dark, and noisy. The darkness is due to the closeness of the buildings surrounding the Hoof; the noise is due to its location and poor sound-proofing, especially around its windows. The Hoof's rooms tend to rent to regulars and city natives more often than not, and it's not often that all ten rooms to be filled at a time.

The Hoof's lobby, where lodgers come to inquire about rooms from Bornkey, also serves as a casual bar. Nonalcoholic drinks are served, but the majority of these drinks are teas and other hot drinks. In contrast to the inn portion of the Hoof, Bornkey's bar does a thriving business. Baronians from outside the capital are much more likely to find their way here--even the occasional foreigner hears of the bar.

The Hoof has a peaceful atmosphere with a low tolerance for fighting. While it's rare for the city dragoons to be called in, it's not unheard of. More commonly, however, Bornkey tends to take care of problems himself by personally ejecting the combatants from the Ebony Hoof.

Unlike most inn-bar hybrids in Doma City, the Ebony Hoof serves no food.
