Joss thought Goel was awesome. He thought Kerov was a good dude, too. I mean, when Joss went and killed all those giants it was nice to have such competent back-up. They were quite helpful. He was very impressed with them. Particularly Goel. -Kai 20:04, 6 February 2007 (PST)

Goel, in truth, is actually just an extension of Kerov's psyche. While Mithra made him sentient, everything about him is that he's the repressed section of Kerov's mind. As such, Goel will crack the perverted jokes. Goel will use biting sarcasm. Goel will even make puns. While technically a Paladin, if left to his own devices, he would end up losing that title quite quickly. If alignments were true, Goel would be Chaotic Neutral, while Kerov is somewhat closer to Lawful Good. Goel is NOT evil, which is of note. While he doesn't seem to regard many in high esteem, he does try to do good works. He is actually incapable of committing evil acts, but this can oftentimes be fudged. Kerov knows several words of power that can render him just a regular sword if things ever get too crazy.

Goel also likes to nickname people. For example, Ake Tanner is "Tree" to Goel, partially because of his pining over a certain demon.

Ara is "Dragon Lady," which he picked after making her irate with her last nickname, "tits." This caused an angry Kerov to invoke his words of power and tied Goel to a wooden board for a few weeks.

Goel refers to Malachias as his common nickname, "Mally." Unlike Kerov, he is fully willing to mention the name, knowing it doesn't have any power anymore.

Goel calls Kerov many names, usually along a theme. He's been known to call him the following: "Mr. High and Mighty, Dumbass, Captain Justice, Mithra's Bitch, The Fister," and when he is completely angry at Kerov, invokes his full, given name: "Masqueetas Avraham Altec."

Being a sword, he really enjoys combat, and is highly distrustful of all the "evil" races, such as demons, drow, illithids, and what have you. He'd rather cut first, question later, but Kerov keeps a tight leash on him. Goel is known to make sarcastic comments about Doma City, mainly because of its diverse population. If he had his way, there'd be a lot less people there.

From a meta standpoint, Goel is my way of being a bastard. Since he is with Kerov, it's two sides of a coin. Kerov is the respectful, kind, somewhat delusional champion of Justice, and while Goel is also a fan of doing good works, he's going to give you hell throughout. Being nothing more than an aspect of Kerov, it doesn't bode well for the angel's mental state, if that's what he's repressing. Kerov is quite capable of wanton destruction if he so wills it, and so Mithra created Goel to expend that repression, and thus keep Kerov in check.
