Hubine
Briefly
A medium-sized, heavily populated town on the northern Doman border. It receives a good deal of traffic due to the ferry it operates across the Ridhon River. Most of the people who live here work in shops and restaurants which cater to travelers and merchants.
Rivan dragoons are not uncommon in Hubine, making the city unsafe for dragonkind. While murder of dragons is not authorized under Doman law, the local guard is unable to always effectively deal with the city's migratory population and particularly so during busy seasons. Other non-human races are less often targeted. Non-humans traveling in groups or with obvious mages have the best chance of being left untargeted.

History
In 1312 Hubine operated two ferries across the river. Whenever one of the ferries was put out of commission, be it for scheduled or unscheduled repairs, the town would overflow with people; in these times, Hubine's guard had a hard time keeping control of things. In 1315, two more ferries were added to the roster, one of which is always kept in reserve except during the morning and post-noon rush.
Buildings and stores
The buildings of Hubine are packed tightly together, especially in the poorer section of town. One of the cheaper inns and bars is the Green Shield, which rents both single rooms as well as cots in the 'common rooms.' There is a common room for men and women each, each room allowing for up to 50 people. A full room is a crowded and generally uncomfortable one. Additionally, sleeping in the common room makes one a potential target for theft, especially if one is nonhuman.
Midian Sarasa's particularly tacky store of potions and assorted knick-knacks has closed, after a successful ten year run in the town from to 1306-1316. A small, specialized tailor's shop called The Kindly Ones, which carries both mundane and magical materials, is run by the grandmother, mother, and daughter of a family.
