Special Gre'par'th eggs are picked from 'birth' and are stored in a special chamber with the wolf-pigs. When the egg hatches, the child may get a special connection to the wolf-pigs, allowing the child and the wolf-pigs to speak to each other. The first wolf-pig that the child connects with stays with the child throughout the child's life, never leaving their side. They have a special affinity to magic that draws off the wind.
