The man was quite a sight -- while heavy, he was also nearly as tall as Richard, practically dwarfing everyone in the group. His fur looked like someone had taken a white coat and slung blobs of orange and black paint at it, covering him in seemingly random stripes, patches, and various shapes of color. Further adding to his eccentricity, he was dressed in gaudy, bright, Nekonian fair clothes -- completely out of place with the normally drab travel clothes of most of the people in the town. He was like a walking clash of color...no wonder his wares were displayed in such a similar fashion. ¶ Midian looked the group over quickly, scrubbed at his face with a fat paw, and grinned furiously, right before pouncing foward and hugging Dia with lightning quick speed. "It has been ages since I last saw you!" he exclaimed accusingly, still grinning like an old friend. ¶ "You never visit by poor Midian's store anymore! Do you still live with that dusty old Valthi mage? Are you still set on being a mercenary? Have you spent much time in Doma? Have you been to the capital? Do you need any potions? Oh, I have this great griffie plushie from the last Nekonian Kitiwai Karnival...would you be interested in seeing it? Oh, you simply MUST look at my new merchandise, I JUST stocked everything..." He suddenly stopped talking and stepped back, looking at Dia appraisingly. "You need to eat more!" he roared, glaring. "Your father would KILL me if he saw how thin and frail you are right now!" He laughed suddenly and hugged her again...much to Dia's obvious discomfort. ¶ The dragonhalf wriggled free of the enthusiastic embrace, slapping Midian's meaty arm with a somewhat embarrassed smirk. "Hey, Midian...yeah, it's been a while," she agreed, somewhat reservedly. "I'll have to catch you up on things...later. Right now, my friend," she nodded at Hakaril, "would like to see a few of your items back on the shelves there..." Dia smiled faintly and took a step back, glancing at Hakaril expectantly, as if to indicate that she wasn't going to be talking again anytime soon. ¶ The nekojin merchant blinked and turned to the archmage, seeming to have calmed down some. "You are a friend of Dia's?" he asked rhetorically. "Well then, dear sir, please, how may I help you?" he asked genially, baring sharp teeth in what was perhaps supposed to be a friendly grin. His face crinkled upwards as he smiled, the blobs and stripes of color on his face rearranging comically, as he waited for Hak's answer... | ||

Of course, the 'puppy' she was drawing seemed lanky and almost deathly bony, and had oversized claws and fangs. ¶ Just in time to watch as the whirling, cloudy crimson madness of the demon's eyes faded into a solid pink color, visible to any watching it closely. The demon suddenly found itself straining against empty air as some unseen force seemed to simply and suddenly...disappear. The creature literally fell over onto its back in its efforts to scramble away from the group, its paws and jagged claws ripping holes in the earth as it dashed away from the group as if all hell was snapping right at his heels. | ||
