There has not been a recorded instance when a majir has assumed true form in front of mortals except in the underworld, for when they travel outside the underworld, they take the form of a humanoid creature, often one that would be seen as ferocious (a garoujin form is one of the favorite forms of a majir).

In any form, a majir's eyes remain compound eyes, and only the size of them changes to that of the normal eye for the race being imitated. Also, all majir that are in forms other than their true one have chitinous plates near their abdomen.
