Ironroot
Ironroot is an extremely odd material. It's not actually a metal, it's a plant. However, many consider it of metallic origin. This is because Ironroot has a toughness and strength much like iron. It's favored by druids and other people that do not use metal. Its appearance as a tree also masks its true identity, so a few people favor it as a means to decieve and make themselves look less competant than they are. If a person is wearing wooden armor, they cannot be too bright.
Ironroot is not forged, it is carved. A skilled armorer that trained in ironroot can make a sword or suit of armor from just one trunk. However, these trunks have the weight of iron, so it's more common for the armorer/weaponsmith to come to the plant than to bring the plant to them.
Harvesting ironroot is hard, because of its strength. Many have insisted on using adamantine to cut the metal, as it is much stronger, however, it's also a long process. As such, ironroot isn't as common as it should be. Though many places where ironroot grows is known, not many bother to harvest it. However, for the right price, you too could own ironroot weaponry or armor.
