humanoid with a typically lean, atheletic and/or muscular build--males and females can be almost equally strong but males have a slight advantage as they tend to be larger; dark, nearly black-brown skin with a very thin layer of matching color fur; long, gold, fluffy cat-like tails; some illenthuri have natural brown markings on their tails, varying from clan to clan; sharply pointed ears that hear only slightly better than human ears do; white-on-black eyes; tend to have long black hair on their heads

MISC:
Illenthuri are an offworlder race. Technicaly omnivores, at a loose estimate they eat about 90% meat and 10% fruits/veggies. The race lives in tribal societies on their homeworld, a very hot place of deserts, plains, jungles, and the like--climes vary not so much in temperature as moisture. Illenthuri culture is monotheistic, under the guidance of the creator deity Mooncat.
There is a huge imbalance in the male to female birth rate ratio. In a tribe of 20, the average number of women will total three. However, members of the race are forcibly monogomous--upon two Illenthuri's first mating, they become chemically imprinted on one another. If either one attempts to have sex with anyone that is not their mate, they have a violent physical reaction. This was not an original feature of the race but was added by Mooncat after the first rape took place.
The range of magic usable by illenthuri is narrow. Mages are capable of a subtype of transmutation which is called, colloquially, "smell magic," and requires the caster's nose to work. All illenthuri have access to the use of their "knuckle claws"--that is, large claws made of bone, which come out and retract at the knuckle. As a rule of thumb, these claws are 1-2 inches shorter than the palm of the hand.
Illenthuri are a very emotional people, who upon feeling emotions tend to feel them strongly. Intelligence, logic, and control vary from person to person as one would expect with any other race.
