other Rildyn has an odd obsession with capes and is willing to do some strange things to get them, including unstaking a vampire from a coffin. He dislikes being blasted in the face with uber-enhanced magical spells, because those tend to kill him, but who doesn't? He also owns a golem-like creation called a shield guardian that serves as a personal bodyguard; it was found in the ruins of New Nekonia on Ka'thalar after the battle with Arachael the Sablewinged.

Background

Rildyn was born in a small elvish community in Doma that revered a group of celestials that dropped in one day proclaiming themselves to be divine messengers (or, more accurately, gods). Rildyn, as the firstborn son of his ruling class family, would ordinarily have been highly respected and treated like a prince. Unfortunately for Rildyn, Rildyn's father was unaware of the fact that he was...not Rildyn's father. The child was a half-elf, and clearly illegitimate. The result was a disaster, and it caused quite a bit of controversy and shame.

More or less in exile, Rildyn set out on his own to make a name for himself, and he discovered in his early years that he had a gift for magic; surviving mostly on his own in the woods, he developed a flair for hunting his own game. He later met General Hakaril Silvar in the Jade Dragon Inn and was contracted to investigate the ivory tower that had cropped up west of the city. From there, Rildyn became entangled in the events of Dark Obsessions, and the rest is history.

Maybe at some point I'll convince the RPer to give me his D&D sheet for giggles.
