Background and Vessels of Souls
Izue Mazuo was once merely an ambitious young scientist, living and studying in his native country of Valth. His ultimate goal to make a reputation for himself, Izue poured long hours into his work and research each day, often alienating his fellow students in the process. By the time he graduated from Kalmiatiden University, Izue had dutifully mastered nearly all known information in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, mathematics, physics, physiology, anatomy, thanatology, thaumatology, demonology, history, ectology (the study of ghosts and spirits), toxicology, computer technology, engineering, and mixology (he can make a mean gin sour). By utilizing his innate talents at magic and combining them with his studies of physical and arcane science alike, Izue eventually developed a process that involved merging the astral form of one creature with the physical body of another. Further research enabled the process to create an astral being with the intelligence of a "slave" being, either corporeal or incorporeal. From this method, Izue managed to create tek astral symbiotes that parasitically consumed and dominated humanoid souls, granting the astral symbiote increased sentience.
When his ideas were rejected as "twisted and horrifying" by his colleagues and superiors, Izue sought a buyer for his invention on the open market. Allying himself with drow sympathizers in Igala, he eventually came to work for SentanCorp, where he developed the astral parasites used to pilot the "ghost armors" that first attacked Igala in 3092.
Because of a childhood incident, Izue is terrified of dogs (even inujin upset him slightly). His phobia of spiders comes from a biology course in which a giant tarantula escaped from its holding enclosure and somehow landed on his face.
