With a powerful passive sensor suite and unsurpassed stealth capabilities, as well as the ability to deal out serious harm to any target that is not over the horizon, the Apophis excels in the role of sniper, but is more than capable of entering the fray and giving as good as it gets, and its thick armor plating helps ensure it can get back out again. The main problems the Apophis faces are its consistent troubles with headstrong astral symbiotes and the fact that the standard design only features energy weapons. The original design was slower than an average 'Mech, but underwent a redesign when Yuri realized that the horizon is only about 8 miles away.
