How, exactly, Mithril is spelled has been debated for many years. Some say it is Mythril, as the elves were said to be the first race to discover the metal and named it, wheras others say it is Mithril, claiming the elves weren't the first to use it, humans were. Both sides have come to an agreement that the other side is completely wrong, and most consumers decided that they'll buy Mithril - or Mythril - no matter how it is spelled. | How, exactly, Mithril is spelled has been debated for many years. Mithril is a metal that is strong as steel, yet far lighter. It is a heavily desired metal, as it can be used to create weapons and armor that allow their users to maintain much more grace and agility, without sacrificing any protection. However, Mithril (sometimes Mythril) is not just used in military applications. Mithril is a fine conductor, and is used in many technological devices. In addition, Mithril has properties that not many understand, making it much easier to enchant and maintain.
Mithril is rare, however. The best place to find the ore is in the Far North, with a few scattered veins throughout the rest of the mainland. However, these veins were mostly tapped out by zealous miners, eager to make a fortune. Mithril is therefore expensive, but many consider the cost to be secondary to the potential the metal has.
