==== Background ====

Dimitria was born in Squall Castle, Barius.  At the age of 5, her parents sent her to a ballet academy to study ballet dancing.  The instructors were very strict, but she loved to dance so very much.  At the age of 12, she auditioned for a part with a travelling ballet company.  Shortly after her audition, she recieved notice that she had been chosen as a principal!  Her first part with the company would be in a ballet called "The Blacksmith's Daughters"; her character was "Anya".

After travelling the norther part of Igala, the ballet company had ended up in Inustan for the final performances of that production.  Late one night, their camp was raided.  The instructors were murdered and many of the dances were kidnapped; the rest, who tried to flee, were killed.  Dimitria, along with many others, was sold into servitude.  The older female dancers were sold into prostitution.  The male dancers were sentenced to slavery.

The man who purchased Dimitria was all the way from Avon.  It was not long before she understood that this had been planned for weeks.  The raiders had been following the ballet company and sending out notices to prospective "buyers".  It was very unfair, and she hated her master for it.  She worked silently for the first few years, but as she got older, her anger was becomming increasingly difficult to quell.  By the time she was 17, she became quite the thorn in her master's side.

She was no longer afraid to speak up and let him know what she thought of him.  However, every action has it's consequence and the consequence for her insolence was lashings.  She was 19 when she decided that she would leave, unafraid of any possible repercussions.  That day, dawn had not even emerged.  She got dressed, took a satchel-full of food (fruit, vegetables, etc.) and left before the sun appeared.  She didn't look back once.

When she left, she headed north.  There were times when she was fortunate enough to be picked up by a carriage and was allowed to be a passenger for a day or so.  Hence, she found a new life in Baron.
