Idran1701 (6:00:00 PM): Hey, Shaun. Just letting you know, I don't think this week's session's going to go through. I
still need to finish your and Pervy's sidequests, and start Bes's and Neb's.
CGNakibe (6:00:54 PM): Bleh.
Idran1701 (6:01:12 PM): Hey, you still get sidequestiness at least. :D
CGNakibe (6:01:18 PM): Cool.
Idran1701 (6:01:23 PM): Also, done much work on your project today?
CGNakibe (6:01:47 PM): One done, one to go. Pretty confident I can finish that one quickly enough, at least.
Idran1701 (6:01:52 PM): Awesome.
CGNakibe (6:01:58 PM): Was playing with my OS project today.
Idran1701 (6:02:02 PM): Oh?
CGNakibe (6:02:23 PM): Yeah. I was using semaphores to keep "competing" processes from stepping on each other's
toes during procesing.
CGNakibe (6:02:28 PM): *processing
Idran1701 (6:02:31 PM): *nod*
CGNakibe (6:02:49 PM): Anyway. I finished it quickly enough, had some aggravations trying to get it working.
CGNakibe (6:03:03 PM): The saddest thing, however, was the last bug. Everything is working, everything is fine.
CGNakibe (6:03:37 PM): And then I run it. The expected output was something like 300k "count" or something in that
range.
CGNakibe (6:03:43 PM): (too lazy to figure the exact number)
CGNakibe (6:04:01 PM): And the actual count was in the 100k or so.
Idran1701 (6:04:09 PM): What was the error?
CGNakibe (6:04:16 PM): Which, for the project, was of course totally wrong.
CGNakibe (6:04:29 PM): The error was that I reversed the order of my semaphores. >.<
CGNakibe (6:04:52 PM): It was a fucking stupid error. Basically, one process was to write to a buffer, the other was to
read from it.
Idran1701 (6:05:17 PM): *nod*
CGNakibe (6:05:25 PM): You're supposed to use mutual exclusion so that there's never two copies of the buffer value
running around at any given time.
CGNakibe (6:05:38 PM): And only 8 slots in the buffer proper, which cycle.
Idran1701 (6:05:57 PM): Right.
CGNakibe (6:06:22 PM): The way its SUPPOSED to go is the sensible way, really. The producing process grabs the
buffer FIRST, regardless of everything else, since it starts out "empty".
CGNakibe (6:07:03 PM): A semaphore variable (a special form of integer) kept track of how many buffer areas are
supposed to be empty.
CGNakibe (6:07:17 PM): When the semaphore hits 0, the producing process stops.
CGNakibe (6:07:51 PM): Meanwhile, the other process essentially checks to see if there are any full buffer areas to
read, and if there are, it starts reading them.
CGNakibe (6:08:23 PM): I mixed up my semaphores so that the reading-process looked for empty areas, and the
writing-process for full. x.x
CGNakibe (6:08:31 PM): Easy to fix, but GOD that was dumb.
Idran1701 (6:09:24 PM): Heh. Well, at least you got it taken care of.
CGNakibe (6:09:29 PM): I felt like I insulted my computer. >:{{{
CGNakibe (6:09:33 PM): Ah, well. Its done now.
Idran1701 (6:09:49 PM): *nod*
And now why aren't you working on your other project? :P
CGNakibe (6:10:22 PM): Remember that laziness business? Yeah. >:P But seriously, I have LISP on this comp, needed for this one.
CGNakibe (6:10:28 PM): Although I think I'm almost done theorizing it.
Idran1701 (6:10:34 PM): *nod*
Idran1701 (6:31:49 PM): Well, if you can't get to actual work any time soon, up for picking things up with the sidequest,
possibly finishing things there?
CGNakibe (6:32:10 PM): Sure, I can do that.
Idran1701 (6:36:01 PM): *nod* Good now, or need some more time?
CGNakibe (6:36:13 PM): Good enough for now, yeah.
Idran1701 (6:36:25 PM): All right. I'll grab the last bit from last time.
Idran1701 (6:37:03 PM):
Idran1701 (11:52:17 PM): What's her name?
CGNakibe (11:52:44 PM): Karinska
Idran1701 (11:53:00 PM): *nods* It's a nice name.
Idran1701 (11:53:20 PM): She come with you from the Prime?
CGNakibe (11:56:15 PM): Actually no. She's from Byopia (?).
Idran1701 (11:56:31 PM): (Faunel, but you had the right number of letters. :D)
CGNakibe (11:56:40 PM): ( ._. )
Idran1701 (11:57:07 PM): How'd you meet her?
Idran1701 (6:37:12 PM): (Go ahead whenever you're ready.)
CGNakibe (6:41:11 PM): Ah, yes, we actually were both employed as caravan guards. Myself because I had found myself and our party regretfully short
of funds.
Idran1701 (6:41:28 PM): *chuckles* And her?
CGNakibe (6:42:27 PM): (Remind me, did Karin actually come out there for the wings, or did that just happen on the way back?)
Idran1701 (6:43:04 PM): (It just happened; it was the party's request, in fact. She came out for the whole Sensate experience thing.)
CGNakibe (6:44:16 PM): I believe she was just out to add a new experience to her set.
Idran1701 (6:44:36 PM): Oh, a Sensate?
CGNakibe (6:44:48 PM): *nods* Yes.
Idran1701 (6:44:57 PM): Hmm.
Idran1701 (6:47:56 PM): You aren't worried about that?
CGNakibe (6:56:19 PM): Worried about what?
Idran1701 (6:56:59 PM): You two being of two different factions. Lesser things than philosophical differences have come between folks, after
all.
CGNakibe (7:01:10 PM): Ah. That was a problem I admittedly HADN'T considered. But... *shrugs* Its a risk, and life is full of them.
Idran1701 (7:08:36 PM): Well, if that's how you feel. Hopefully you'll still make it work. Good luck to you two.*grins*
CGNakibe (7:09:47 PM): Thank you.
Idran1701 (7:12:01 PM): So, have you told her about that marriage thing yet? *chuckles*
CGNakibe (7:14:10 PM): *blushes a bit, and looks away* Yes, well.. err... no. Not yet.
Idran1701 (7:14:28 PM): Nervous?
CGNakibe (7:14:53 PM): Yes, GODS yes.
CGNakibe (7:15:12 PM): At least I'm not as flustered as I was before, but this....
Idran1701 (7:16:10 PM): Just what is it you're nervous about, exactly?
Idran1701 (7:16:37 PM): She love you?
CGNakibe (7:19:07 PM): I think so... its just...even knowing that, I'm still worried, and I can't say just why.
Idran1701 (7:20:55 PM): Hmm. I take it you haven't exactly been involved with a woman this deeply before?
CGNakibe (7:29:20 PM): No. Not at all before.
Idran1701 (7:30:48 PM): Then it's probably just the novelty of it all.
If this isn't too private a question for you, how close have you two been? And feel free to tell me to shut up if you'd rather not answer.
*chuckles, smirking*
CGNakibe (7:37:16 PM): Well... er. I'm... pretty sure she's seen me at my best... and worst. Considering she seems to like the former and hasn't knocked
me senseless for the latter, I'd say pretty close. *chuckles weakly*
Idran1701 (7:38:39 PM): *laughs back, grinning* Ah. Well, that's a good sign for you, then, I'd say. I think you're worried about nothing,
honestly.
Though I should say that's not...exactly what I meant by close.
CGNakibe (7:51:01 PM): Oh er... well.. *blush*
Idran1701 (7:51:38 PM): Too personal for you? Eh, that's fine. *chuckles*
CGNakibe (7:52:44 PM): Well, perhaps a bit...
Idran1701 (7:53:35 PM): Heh. No need to answer, then.
Idran1701 (7:56:34 PM): *glances over; Arian still working on his steak?*
CGNakibe signed off at 7:56:52 PM.

Idran1701 (8:04:41 PM): (You get my last message?)
CGNakibe (8:04:52 PM): (No)
Idran1701 (8:05:01 PM):
CGNakibe (7:52:44 PM): Well, perhaps a bit...
Idran1701 (7:53:35 PM): Heh. No need to answer, then.
Idran1701 (7:56:34 PM): *glances over; Arian still working on his steak?*
CGNakibe (8:05:27 PM): (Ah. I DID get that.)
CGNakibe (8:05:35 PM): [21:59] CGNakibe: *not anymore. He's mostly done, it seems, leaving little that isn't bone behind.*
Idran1701 (8:07:43 PM): Well, you have any plans now? Decide about getting that room here yet or not?
CGNakibe (8:12:06 PM): (Since it occurs to me that he WOULD have mentioned it to her, what does Karin think about him taking up room with the
Signers?)
Idran1701 (8:13:30 PM): (I don't think he's had the chance yet, since he just found out about his membership after showing up here. But if he
realized it'd be a possibility that he'd have a room at whatever faction he did end up joining, then she'd have said it's all right with her,
though she does enjoy having Arian there with her.)
CGNakibe (8:14:17 PM): (Ah. *nods* Was wondering about that.)
CGNakibe signed on at 8:19:38 PM.
Idran1701 (8:19:44 PM): (Haha, bad luck for both of us tonight.)
Idran1701 (8:19:53 PM): (Did you say anything after saying you were wondering about that?)
CGNakibe (8:20:18 PM): (No, not yet. I should have, and will correct this now. >:{ )
Idran1701 (8:20:35 PM): (YES YOU SHOULD >:)
CGNakibe (8:20:37 PM): I've decided to go ahead and take the room., yes.
CGNakibe (8:20:42 PM): ( ._. )
Idran1701 (8:20:56 PM): (DON'T SAD EYES ME >: )
Idran1701 (8:27:26 PM): *nod* I'll take you there, then, show you around. Furnishings are a little sparse, but you can go ahead and replace
them with whatever you'd like, no rules against that.
CGNakibe (8:27:49 PM): *nods* Works for me, I think.
Idran1701 (8:28:24 PM): *he stands!* Garden or city view?
CGNakibe (8:33:22 PM): Garden.
Idran1701 (8:35:00 PM): Right. Come along, then. *smirks*
Idran1701 (8:38:08 PM): *Travis starts for the door, glancing behind him to make sure Arian's following behind.*
Idran1701 (8:44:40 PM): (We should really start prodding each other more for this. :D)
CGNakibe (8:44:57 PM): (Yeah, I suppose so)
CGNakibe (8:45:17 PM): *Arian follows, paying attention to the many people that goes around*
Idran1701 (8:46:36 PM): *Most seem content to ignore him, and pretty much everyone it appears. A few nod to him, looking a bit friendly,
but the majority seem too caught up in their own thoughts to bay him much mind.*
Idran1701 (8:48:04 PM): *Travis takes Arian up another few floors, stopping on the fourth before leading him down the hallway, taking him
to a room along the inside curve with his name already written beside the door in flowing script.*
Idran1701 (8:48:23 PM): *smirks* You want to take the first look?
Idran1701 (8:52:11 PM): (*poke poke*
Feel free to do the same to me the next time I inevitably keep quiet for a while too. :D)
CGNakibe (9:00:09 PM): Certainly. *looks inside* *how plain is it in there, exactly?*
CGNakibe (9:00:21 PM): (And yeah, Persona 3 is trying to eat my soul. I'm content t o let it. For now.)
Idran1701 (9:00:25 PM): (Heh. :D)
Idran1701 (9:03:00 PM): *It's not too bad, really. An oval-shaped room, divided into rooms inside, it appears. He can't spot the bedroom
from here, but the sitting room's not too bad off. It's got an assortment of basic furniture, but the walls are bare. The wall on the far end
is pure glass, similar to the sitting room before, overlooking the interior garden of the Hall. The "sunlight" from above shines in, giving
the entire room a nice glow.*
Idran1701 (9:05:55 PM): *Beyond that, the walls and floor look to be made out of a soothing blue marble, and the furniture's apholstered
appropriately for the decor. There's not much in the area of storage space out here, nothing even like Karin's sparse "kitchen" area, but
it looks comfortable enough for just simple meeting or relaxing.*
CGNakibe (9:15:37 PM): Now THIS I could definitely work with. And the view is quite nice, if you aske me.
Idran1701 (9:20:36 PM): *he nods, grinning* Glad you think so. I've always enjoyed it myself.
The bedroom's through that door, and there's a washroom through that. Anything else you need?
CGNakibe signed off at 9:21:25 PM.
CGNakibe signed on at 9:23:34 PM.
Idran1701 (9:24:35 PM): (Just in case, didn't see anything after Travis asked him if there was anything else.)
CGNakibe (9:33:35 PM): (Travis asked if there was anything else Arian wanted out of the room, I assume? Because I DIDN'T catch that.)
Idran1701 (9:33:45 PM):
Idran1701 (9:20:36 PM): *he nods, grinning* Glad you think so. I've always enjoyed it myself.
The bedroom's through that door, and there's a washroom through that. Anything else you need?
CGNakibe (9:49:41 PM): Hm. Nothing else that I can think of for the time being.
Idran1701 (9:50:50 PM): *nods* Then I'll leave you to yourself here. Have fun, and I'll probably see you later. *chuckles*
Idran1701 (9:50:54 PM): *and he's out!*

Idran1701 (10:29:12 PM): (*poke poke* :D
Unless I missed something during one of my DCs, at least.)
CGNakibe (10:34:11 PM): Hmmm... yes, this will do nicely indeed.
CGNakibe (10:34:11 PM): I wonder what Karinska will think of it.
CGNakibe (10:34:11 PM): ... I should probably go tell her the news, see what she thinks of all this.
CGNakibe (10:35:37 PM): *he takes another look around at it all, as if to make sure he can tell her all about it, and then starts off*
Idran1701 (10:36:35 PM): *Arian heads off, making his way back to the Civic Festhall. His trip back down is largely the same as his trip up,
with a few greetings and far more lack of acknowledgement.*
Idran1701 (10:37:33 PM): (And here, two options! We can cut here, or continue with the RP. The latter, though, I give you the same warning
as I gave with the collar session; might be amusing, but might push things too far for you. Your choice. :O)
CGNakibe (10:38:48 PM): (Hmm.)
Idran1701 (10:39:21 PM): (I might be worrying about nothing again like that time, but I just want to warn you in advance, just to be safe.)
CGNakibe (10:40:10 PM): (Letss go then.)
Idran1701 (10:40:42 PM): (All right, then. :D)
Idran1701 (10:41:24 PM): *It doesn't take long before Arian's back at the door to Karin's room, recieving as he heads through the building a
much warmer greeting than at his own newly-claimed faction headquarters.*
Idran1701 (11:07:27 PM): (Everything all right, Shaun? There's not normally this much distraction for you. Just being sucked away too much
by Persona 3, I hope?)
CGNakibe (11:15:42 PM): (I'm beginning to think I'm tired. >:\ )
Idran1701 (11:15:55 PM): (Aha. You and your reasonable sleep schedule. >:)
CGNakibe (11:16:25 PM): (Actually been getting by on 5 hours or less the past couple of days due to insomina. >:P)
Idran1701 (11:16:38 PM): (Oh? Everything okay?)
CGNakibe (11:17:06 PM): (Yeah, just that I'd lay down about 11 or so because I'm tired, and for some reason I'd find myself unable to fall asleep.)
CGNakibe (11:17:27 PM): (Although my dreams have returned. I can't remember what the last one was, but I had two in a row, weird ones.)
CGNakibe (11:17:36 PM): (Last ones, rather.)
Idran1701 (11:19:06 PM): (*nod* Well, that's good, I suppose.)
Idran1701 (11:20:47 PM): (Well then, if you're that tired, we can cut and pick back up tomorrow, then.)
CGNakibe (11:21:11 PM): (And you still have two more sidequests to finish, huh?)
Idran1701 (11:21:19 PM): (Three! :D)
CGNakibe (11:23:49 PM): (Yay for not getting back on track too soon! :D! Ah, well.)
Idran1701 (11:24:17 PM): (IT WOULD BE FASTER IF YOU WEREN'T SO ADDICTED TO GOOD HEALTH >:)
CGNakibe (11:26:24 PM): (HAR HAR HAR I AR RUIN YER GAEM)
Idran1701 (11:26:39 PM): (GO TO SLEEP)
CGNakibe (11:26:56 PM): (NO WAIT MAYBE!)
Idran1701 (11:27:16 PM): (MAKE UP YOUR MIND >:)
