Idran1701 (10:54:24 AM): Hey, Shaun. How's about an hour from now or so for you, for that sidequest?
CGNakibe (10:54:48 AM): Sure, that's cool.
Idran1701 (10:54:52 AM): *nod*
CGNakibe is idle at 12:08:57 PM.
CGNakibe is no longer idle at 12:11:37 PM.
CGNakibe is idle at 12:24:30 PM.
CGNakibe is no longer idle at 12:28:02 PM.
Idran1701 (12:36:44 PM): Hey. :O
If you're not busy, I'm ready on my end.
CGNakibe (12:37:07 PM): Cool. Just lemme get something vaguely lunch-like started.
Idran1701 (12:37:11 PM): *nod*
CGNakibe (12:54:38 PM): Alright. I'm good now.
Idran1701 (12:54:57 PM): *nod* Want to just handle it here, or jump into chat?
CGNakibe (12:56:26 PM): Either one's fine.
Idran1701 (12:56:53 PM): I'll say stick here, then; shouldn't be any dice rolling, don't think.
Idran1701 (12:57:58 PM): <AND WE START>
CGNakibe (12:58:21 PM): <I think I'm turning likable>
Idran1701 (12:59:00 PM): (You know, I really wish I'd chosen a lighter font for Karinska. It's always tough for me to tell if I'd happened to have
lost it or not. :D)
CGNakibe (12:59:19 PM): (Heh. yeah, it is an unusual font)
CGNakibe (12:59:41 PM): (So, where were we?)
Idran1701 (1:00:20 PM): (Karinska was taking the group along to the Sensoriums. Giving an intro monologue for stuff now so I can just copy it
for the other half of things tomorrow too, heh.)
Idran1701 (1:01:57 PM): Leading them through the city streets, their Sensate ally takes them along towards the headquarters of her faction; the
Civic Festhall, located in the Clerk's Ward of Sigil. It's quite the impressive building, nearly 1000 feet tall from the look of things. Quite
beautiful as well, both in design and in appearance. The main surface seems to be blended of dozens of different varieties of granite; every
window is a stained-glass design with colors both subtle and blatant; the floor of the building is a marbelized blend across the entire spectrum;
even the mortar adds its own touch to the general appearance of the facilities.
Idran1701 (1:03:57 PM): Karinska leads the foursome through the lobby, where folks of all varieties, all levels of society mill, discussing various
experiences or events they've undergone recently. After checking in, she leads them along a short hallway to an area with numerous corridors
branching off, the symbol of the Sensates emblazoned upon the ceiling overhead. This must be the heart of the public Sensoriums.
CGNakibe (1:04:09 PM): IM: Quite the interesting mix of colors.... a fascinating construction, at that...
Idran1701 (1:05:14 PM): ( The symbol, for reference. )
Idran1701 (1:06:27 PM): Handing over a few coins, she's given access for the group to a few of the room for today; a group chamber for Ducim,
Guy, and First, and a single for herself and Arian. A Sensate guide emerges for the trio, as Karinska leads Arian along to their own room.
Idran1701 (1:06:47 PM): *smiling a bit* I hope you don't mind the split too much.
CGNakibe (1:06:53 PM): No no, not at all.
CGNakibe (1:07:24 PM): Just... not sure what to expect.
Idran1701 (1:07:34 PM): *nods* I wasn't sure what sorts of experiences you'd be interested in, so I told them to just get a general assortment of the
less...extreme ones.
CGNakibe (1:07:57 PM): *raises an eyebrow at that* That sounds healthy enough...
CGNakibe (1:08:08 PM): IM: Do I want to know what counts as extreme after everything we've been through?
CGNakibe (1:08:22 PM): IM: No no. Probably not.
Idran1701 (1:09:55 PM): They soon come to a door, covered with a fairly delightful looking mural of a pastoral scene, a pair of purple suns
shining down upon the otherwise normal-looking plains. Inside, the room's a bit sparse, with a pair of chairs on either side of a pedestal. Upon
the pedestal in the center is a fairly large cut gemstone, seeming to cycle from one color to another as it sits.
Idran1701 (1:11:16 PM): I asked for mainly positive ones as well...didn't think you'd be much of a mind for pain or suffering after that trip. *bit of a nervous
chuckle*
CGNakibe (1:12:15 PM): Perhaps a bit too soon for that, yes. Thank you.
Idran1701 (1:12:52 PM): *she takes a seat, gesturing for Arian to take the other* I'll guide you through how to use the sensory stone.
CGNakibe (1:13:20 PM): *sits* Alright then.
Idran1701 (1:14:23 PM): First, try to become calm, centered. It helps better immerse yourself in the experience.
CGNakibe (1:15:24 PM): I'm... I'll try. *smiles a bit as he closes his eyes and thinks of... well, nothing yet.*
Idran1701 (1:16:07 PM): Once you think your mind's ready, look within the stone, at its center. Let yourself get lost in the interplay of colors. You'll feel a
light brushing on your mind at first...don't fight it, let it continue on.
CGNakibe (1:16:53 PM): *takes a deep breath.... lets it out... and then looks at the gemstone*
Idran1701 (1:17:50 PM): It's quite the delight to look at...distracting...peaceful...it's easy for Arian to let his mind wander free as he looks within it.
He feels the lightest of tickles somewhere within his mind, as the colors seem to rotate, whirl a bit more excitedly.
CGNakibe (1:18:35 PM): *being warned, he still tenses up a bit at that... and lets it ease on in...*
CGNakibe (1:19:31 PM): IM: Such beautiful colors....
Idran1701 (1:21:10 PM): The spinning continues, pulling Arian's attention...everything around him seems to fall away; Karinska, the room, even
the stone itself. For an instant, he's in a realm of darkness before things begin to fade...there's some sort of clanging in the
background...clang...
clang...
clang...you continue swinging your hammer against the sword, before it looks to meet your approval. No flaws in this blade, not in the least. A
wash of pride goes through you as you plunge the hot metal into the cooling bath, the familiar scent of iron filling your nostrils.
CGNakibe (1:21:22 PM): (I suddenly remember an old Popsicle commercial)
Idran1701 (1:22:02 PM): You give it a practice swing...perfectly balanced, just as you knew it would be. You can't help but chuckle at your own
skill, setting the tools aside, and preparing the blade for sale later today.
CGNakibe (1:22:51 PM): IM: A smith? Most interesting.... Always wondered what it was like for them....
Idran1701 (1:23:56 PM): You head out from your shop, spotting your wife at the counter, keeping track of the funds. You've never been too
number-inclined yourself; a great boon that you met her. A sense of love joins the pride that fills you, as you show off your work to Bianca,
speaking forth with your booming voice.
My finest work yet, I'd say. Almost a shame to give it up!
Idran1701 (1:25:08 PM): She laughs along with you, coming to your side as you both look down the flat of the blade...things begin to fade, as the
room returns, the spiraling colors slowly coming to their prior state of motion once more.
Idran1701 (1:26:36 PM): The emotions are the last to leave, still lingering with the experience, but soon they too fade into memory for Arian, as he
returns to himself once more.
CGNakibe (1:27:05 PM): *blinks* ...Wow...that was.....
Idran1701 (1:27:28 PM): ...*smiles to him* They can be a bit overwhelming at first. Do you need a moment?
CGNakibe (1:27:51 PM): Just enough to feel the inside of my head again... o.o
CGNakibe (1:27:59 PM): *chuckles just a bit...* Amazing.
Idran1701 (1:28:45 PM): They truly are, yes. It was visiting this place that convinced me to join the Sensates myself.
Idran1701 (1:29:08 PM): Even these are...impressive, but the sensations recorded for the faction's private Sensoriums...
CGNakibe (1:29:40 PM): *nods* I see what you mean there. If there are more sensations than this available... I can see why you would like this place.
Why anyone would.
Idran1701 (1:30:08 PM): Oh, these stones are like...like reading a book compared to the depth of the ones they keep for themselves.
Idran1701 (1:30:15 PM): Some of them can last for hours, even.
Idran1701 (1:30:55 PM): It's...easy to get yourself lost within one, if you're not careful. More than a few folks here go so far as to make it an addiction.
CGNakibe (1:32:18 PM): *frowns a bit at that* Because these sensations are better to them than their own lives, I'd wager.
Idran1701 (1:33:02 PM): ...*nods* There's that...sad cases, those. But there's also the concept of sensation without risk.
Idran1701 (1:33:26 PM): Feeling the...the surge of excitement from some feat, without having to worry about your own safety.
CGNakibe (1:34:05 PM): *chuckles* Too bad these sensations can't give you the life's training it takes for some of these things.
CGNakibe (1:34:14 PM): ... o.o Can they?
Idran1701 (1:35:19 PM): Well...some do use them for training, yes. Not quite so direct a manner...the memories from these experiences usually aren't as
strong as the ones from things you experience yourself. But to get a better idea of some type of foe before you face them...or to see the details of a
location before you ever journey there yourself.
Idran1701 (1:35:24 PM): It can be quite useful for such things.
CGNakibe (1:36:10 PM): I imagine so. And quite valuable to those that need it, too.
Idran1701 (1:36:46 PM): *nods* It's a good source of income for the faction, I imagine.
CGNakibe (1:37:36 PM): And a wonderful place to come just for the hell of it, too.
Idran1701 (1:38:23 PM): *chuckles* That's quite true as well, yes. Though they do put a limit on how long you can stay in a single day, to help ward off
the worst of the addicts.
Idran1701 (1:38:54 PM): So...*smiles* now that you have a better idea what these can do, do you have any special requests? There's still a few, but like I
said, they're somewhat...generic. Not sure how interested you'd be in them.
CGNakibe (1:39:53 PM): Special requests? Well... I'm... not sure...
CGNakibe (1:40:08 PM): How about you pick something. You'd know better than me in this anyway...
Idran1701 (1:41:06 PM): Well...all right. There was one I thought you might appreciate, from what you told me of your home world.
Idran1701 (1:41:35 PM): Reaching into a small satchel at the foot of the pedestal, she replaces the sensory stone with one of a more yellowish tint
to it.
CGNakibe (1:42:30 PM): I'm sure that its good if you chose it for me.
CGNakibe (1:42:34 PM): o.o >.>;;;
CGNakibe (1:42:50 PM): IM: Yeah, nice going there.
Idran1701 (1:43:16 PM): ...*she chuckles a bit, though she looks a bit red-faced herself* Well, I...I hope so.
Idran1701 (1:45:07 PM): All right...whenever you're ready.
CGNakibe (1:45:28 PM): *takes another breath... and then looks in the stone*
Idran1701 (1:46:52 PM): The process begins again...it feels much the same, though there's the sense of a slightly different..."tone" to the whole
thing. The minor intrusion to Arian's mind begins once more, and it seems to be a shorter span of time before the sensation grasps him.
Idran1701 (1:48:16 PM): Soon, the room is again replaced...in the moments before he's fully immersed, Arian can make out the walls of stone, and
a few bookshelves holding your libraries of research. It's taken months...years even. The aches and bruises of past failures still echo in your
bones, but this time! This time you know you've got it!
Idran1701 (1:49:47 PM): The key was in the secondary level of gestures along the third metamagical planes all along, just as your colleague said it
was! You bend over your writings, the quill you personally obtained from the wing of that griffon in hand.
Idran1701 (1:50:38 PM): A slight tweak here, replace this syllable with that one...and you're ready for the most recent attempt. You look over the
works one last time, though by now you know nearly all of them by heart.
Idran1701 (1:52:16 PM): You begin casting the enchantment, as the energies gather around you. Channelling the spells into your staff,
hand-crafted and emblazoned with gems found in the depths of the Plane of Mineral, you finish the chants, releasing the spell energy! You can
feel it, this time it's going perfectly!
Idran1701 (1:54:33 PM): A coruscating light begins spreading from the staff, enveloping you as you can feel yourself contact the forces that
underlie all of existence, from the Inner to the Outer Planes. The final words of the spell are issued forth, as you can feel a shaking through the
tower. The light begins to spread, as all seems to fade...
...sight soon returns to you, as you gaze out the window of your laboratory.
Idran1701 (1:54:53 PM): And beyond...the grassy fields, exactly as you pictured them.
You've done it! Finally, your own demiplane!
CGNakibe (1:54:58 PM): IM: Such... such power....
Idran1701 (1:55:57 PM): A sense of great victory spreads through you, joy, triumph, as the sensation begins to fade once more, bringing you back
to reality, to the Sensorium and Karinska once more.
*she looks a bit pensive, waiting for Arian's reaction* ...Well?
CGNakibe (1:57:40 PM): I.... that.... I didn't know it would feel quite like that. *a slight chuckle with a small smile*
Idran1701 (1:58:17 PM): ...You liked it, then? You said you were...that you were interested in studying magic, but you couldn't at home, so I thought...
CGNakibe (1:58:35 PM): Yes.... yes I did.
CGNakibe (1:59:00 PM): I never... thought it could be like that... that it... or I, could DO something like that.... Hahaha.
CGNakibe (1:59:24 PM): Even though it wasn't me.... the thought that I could do anything similar....
Idran1701 (1:59:50 PM): ...*she grins* You've never really had the chance to be excited about this before, have you?
CGNakibe (2:00:07 PM): No.... No I haven't. Hahahaa...
CGNakibe (2:00:54 PM): Thank you... Thank you. ^^
Idran1701 (2:02:17 PM): *still grinning, she begins to brush his arm* No, I'm...I'm glad I could let you be this happy about something. I know you miss
your home...
CGNakibe (2:03:29 PM): I do. But I think... for now this will be enough. More than enough.
Idran1701 (2:05:05 PM): *she chuckles a bit* I think this is the first time I've seen you this happy, Arian.
CGNakibe (2:05:43 PM): *Chuckles in return* Yes... I do believe it is... Perhaps I should change that.
Idran1701 (2:08:00 PM): Well, I'll be glad to help keep you happy.
...*she blushes a bit again, letting out a bit more nervous laughter*
CGNakibe (2:08:44 PM): You do... I mean... err... *blushes furiously*
CGNakibe (2:08:46 PM): <.< >.>;;;
CGNakibe (2:09:02 PM): With luck the others are enjoying themselves as much.
Idran1701 (2:09:44 PM): Oh, I'm sure they are. It must be even more of an experience for them, I imagine...Guy and First especially.
Idran1701 (2:10:00 PM): I don't imagine Guy remembers much of his humanoid days, himself.
CGNakibe (2:10:39 PM): No, I don't imagine so. He seems pretty well adapted to it, though.
CGNakibe (2:11:03 PM): If it is a tad odd seeing his tail wag while he talks, among other things.
Idran1701 (2:11:41 PM): *she laughs* I don't mind it, myself. It's a bit familiar for me. Helps remind me of home.
CGNakibe (2:12:08 PM): Yes, but I have this strong urge sometimes to scratch him behind the ears.
CGNakibe (2:12:14 PM): I don't think he'd like that so much. *chuckles*
Idran1701 (2:12:41 PM): *laughs* No, I imagine not.
Idran1701 (2:13:10 PM): I wonder if that's part of the reason he wears that hood. *her eyes seem to twinkle a bit with amusement*
CGNakibe (2:14:29 PM): Heheh. Although this brings up the horrible thought of if he's had fleas anytime.
Idran1701 (2:15:12 PM): ...Oh, I can just imagine someone trying to give him a flea bath.
CGNakibe (2:15:31 PM): Actually I feel bad for the fleas that dared to bite him. >:P
Idran1701 (2:16:46 PM): *just laughs for a spell*
...This is nice, isn't it?
CGNakibe (2:17:04 PM): Yes. Yes it is. Just having a moment to relax...
Idran1701 (2:17:29 PM): It's a good opportunity when you get it.
CGNakibe (2:18:34 PM): Indeed.
Idran1701 (2:19:18 PM): So...we're staying here until Karl returns, right? Or did he mention what he found in Delon?
CGNakibe (2:20:00 PM): Can't honestly recall if he did mention it. But I don't think so. And yes, I think we are staying till he returns.
CGNakibe (2:20:04 PM): Hopefully it won't take too long.
Idran1701 (2:21:02 PM): *smiles a bit* Well, I'm not so sure about that last part.
Idran1701 (2:22:38 PM): I don't really mind having a bit more time to rest here, myself. I know you're eager to find a way back, but...*shrugs*
CGNakibe (2:23:22 PM): At this point I don't think we're in much of a rush. We still need a few more leads than we currently possess.
Idran1701 (2:23:49 PM): *nods*
Idran1701 (2:26:19 PM): Well, I hope he comes back with something for you all. I'd still like to see those beaches you mentioned.
CGNakibe (2:26:46 PM): I'd be most happy to show them to you, as well.
Idran1701 (2:31:16 PM): ...*she chuckles a bit* Not sure how well your family would care for me, though. I imagine someone who grew up in a city in the
middle of the wilderness isn't exactly on the same social level as them.
CGNakibe (2:33:57 PM): My dad would be just fine with you. Its probably my mom who would be the most trouble. At least that I can think of.
Idran1701 (2:35:08 PM): What about the rest of her family?
CGNakibe (2:35:31 PM): *sighs* That.. I'm not sure about. probably not, if they all think like she does.
Idran1701 (2:36:21 PM): ...Well...as long as you don't mind where I came from, I can handle that, I suppose.
CGNakibe (2:39:05 PM): *nods* But for now... this is a nice place.
Idran1701 (2:39:20 PM): It doesn't bother you so much anymore, the strangeness of it all?
CGNakibe (2:39:33 PM): Not as much. Don't get me wrong, its still strange.
CGNakibe (2:39:40 PM): And sometimes I'd swear it was getting stranger by the day.
CGNakibe (2:39:51 PM): But... that's not so bad either, I think.
Idran1701 (2:40:03 PM): *smiles* It keeps things interesting.
CGNakibe (2:40:34 PM): That it most certainly does.
Idran1701 (2:42:05 PM): ...Maybe I should show you the Beastlands some day. It's a nice change from the city, I think.
I might not be so against it as Guy, but it's still a bit unnerving from time to time, all the...crowdedness.
CGNakibe (2:42:58 PM): I guess I'm more used to it than anything else. Its harder for me to notice its crowded.
CGNakibe (2:43:08 PM): And probably noisy enough too.
Idran1701 (2:43:29 PM): *she nods* Faunel, it was much more...open.
Idran1701 (2:43:49 PM): I used to love laying in bed, just looking up at the sky while I drifted off.
Idran1701 (2:44:52 PM): The buildings there were much...older. More worn then here. And almost nothing kept the forest apart from the city itself.
CGNakibe (2:45:19 PM): Mmm.... Sounds wonderful.
Idran1701 (2:46:31 PM): It was. *she gives a light chuckle* I remember one morning, waking up to see a family of possums had come in overnight,
brought themselves to sleep in a little pile of grass right next to my bed.
CGNakibe (2:48:12 PM): That must've been interesting.
Idran1701 (2:49:00 PM): It took a bit of effort to get up that morning. I didn't want to wake them, as happy as they looked there.
CGNakibe (2:50:15 PM): They had to have been very comfortable, too.
CGNakibe (2:50:24 PM): Or just very tired.
Idran1701 (2:50:43 PM): *she chuckles* One of the two, yes.
Idran1701 (2:51:01 PM): *she glances over Arian as he sits* You know, I wonder...
CGNakibe (2:51:09 PM): Hm?
Idran1701 (2:53:53 PM): Well...*she snickers* it's something about the Beastlands. If you stay there too long, it has a bit of effect on your form. You start
to get a few...animalistic characteristics, sort of a...a reflection of your inner nature. Usually only lasts a few hours after you leave the plane, but they stick
around longer if you spend more time there.
I'm just thinking about what you might get if we ever visited.
CGNakibe (2:55:23 PM): I'd have to wonder at that myself. Cat ears, I'd imagine...
CGNakibe (2:57:07 PM): (He'd start barking and baying at the moon. *nod nod*)
Idran1701 (2:57:32 PM): (:D)
Idran1701 (2:57:49 PM): ...*she seems to snicker a little at a private joke*
Idran1701 (2:58:45 PM): Well, that might turn out a little...interesting.
CGNakibe (2:59:03 PM): Probably would, yes.
Idran1701 (3:00:16 PM): No, it's not that.
CGNakibe (3:00:59 PM): What would it be, then? o.o
Idran1701 (3:01:26 PM): Well...*she snickers a bit more* ...I haven't been there in a while, but the last time I was there, I picked up a mouse's tail.
CGNakibe (3:03:28 PM): Mouse's tail? *snickers*
CGNakibe (3:04:34 PM): Of all things, I wouldn't've expected THAT...
Idran1701 (3:04:56 PM): *she smirks* Oh? Well, what did you expect?
CGNakibe (3:05:40 PM): I... Don't know. Maybe a cute pair of rabbit ears, perhaps? *chuckles*
Idran1701 (3:06:52 PM): ...*she turns a bit red once more, though her laughter isn't quite so nervous this time* Rabbit ears? Arian, what sort of girl do you
think I am?
CGNakibe (3:08:13 PM): It was just a thought. *grins and chuckles*
Idran1701 (3:09:12 PM): Heh. No, no...I was much younger then...hadn't yet even gone to Sigil. And back then I was...well, not shy, exactly. Quiet,
though.
Idran1701 (3:11:20 PM): It wasn't really until I joined the Sensates that that started to turn around.
...It makes me wonder what I would get if I went back.
Idran1701 (3:11:43 PM): *she smirks, nudging his shoulder* I don't think it'd be rabbit ears, though.
CGNakibe (3:12:32 PM): *chuckles* Don't think so myself. Definitely not rabbit ears.
Idran1701 (3:13:27 PM): ...Cat ears, though...you know, that might look good for you.
CGNakibe (3:13:49 PM): Really? What makes you say that? *nudge nudge*
Idran1701 (3:16:52 PM): ...Well, I'm not sure...I just think they might look cute on you, is all. *blushing a bit less now*
I just hope I'm not still too mouse-like if you pick those up.
CGNakibe (3:17:24 PM): That would be... weird. And perhaps a tad dangerous depending on how far things go. But...
CGNakibe (3:17:30 PM): I don't think you'd get mouse anymore.
Idran1701 (3:18:26 PM): Neither do I, really.
...*she glances back at her wings* And with any luck, I wouldn't get bird either.
CGNakibe (3:18:44 PM): Well, you DO have the wings for it..
Idran1701 (3:19:02 PM): Yes, but I think I'd hate the taste of worms.
CGNakibe (3:19:08 PM): *chuckles*
Idran1701 (3:20:27 PM): I imagine Karl might, though. Owl, I'd say.
CGNakibe (3:20:43 PM): Oh, now that I can DEFINITELY see.
CGNakibe (3:22:03 PM): I can see him holding a book in his talons while he feasted on a worm or two.
CGNakibe (3:22:11 PM): Still peering at the tome the while.
Idran1701 (3:22:15 PM): *she chuckles, picturing the imagery* Lilium, I'm less sure about...maybe she actually would take on a mongoose?
CGNakibe (3:23:12 PM): Perhaps. She's certainly got a temperament for it.
Idran1701 (3:23:55 PM): *she nods, smiling a bit* She really doesn't seem that bad, though. I know you don't get along that well, but...well, she's had a
rough hand dealt to her.
CGNakibe (3:24:50 PM): That's true. -.- But she's dealing with it... if you can call it that...
Idran1701 (3:25:20 PM): Well...how do you deal with something like this?
CGNakibe (3:25:35 PM): Wouldn't even know where to begin, honestly.
Idran1701 (3:26:02 PM): ...*she frowns* Klaus certainly isn't helping things either.
CGNakibe (3:26:20 PM): I get the distinct feeling that Klaus is only interested in helping himself.
Idran1701 (3:27:00 PM): ...*she shakes her head* No, it's...did you see his reaction earlier, at her...feeding, I suppose you'd call it?
Idran1701 (3:27:41 PM): He takes a lot of pleasure out of that power...I'm worried for her.
CGNakibe (3:28:52 PM): So am I.
Idran1701 (3:31:07 PM): ...I think I'm going to try to keep an eye on the two of them. And maybe find another way for her to...get fed.
CGNakibe (3:31:21 PM): I'll do what I can to watch as well.
CGNakibe (3:31:40 PM): Whatever he's got on his mind... I'm not sure I like it.
Idran1701 (3:31:47 PM): *nods...and tries to smile a bit* Maybe we should change subjects for now.
CGNakibe (3:31:59 PM): Yes, we probably should.
Idran1701 (3:32:28 PM): Have you looked any into those scrolls you got from the modrons?
CGNakibe (3:33:06 PM): Yes. Several useful spells within them.
CGNakibe (3:33:10 PM): A couple of them I don't quite get yet.
Idran1701 (3:33:27 PM): Oh? Do you know what they are yet, at least?
CGNakibe (3:35:38 PM): Yes... Apparently there's one that discusses finding oneself a familiar.
CGNakibe (3:36:37 PM): Another was about mending small things. Still another for finding small items of potential for use in spells. And one seems to be
about keeping closed doors and the like.
CGNakibe (3:36:58 PM): There were a couple of others... but I'm still trying to figure them out.
Idran1701 (3:37:05 PM): *nods*
Idran1701 (3:37:17 PM): Finding a familiar? Interesting...have you thought about using it?
Idran1701 (3:37:37 PM): I imagine most folks back home didn't summon one themselves...
CGNakibe (3:39:14 PM): I have, yes. I can't think of any better time to use it, but I have to wonder what I would get.
CGNakibe (3:39:48 PM): Wizards who had familiars back home tended to hide them.
Idran1701 (3:39:55 PM): *nod*
CGNakibe (3:40:03 PM): Well, the ones that had less unusual ones kept them like family pets.
CGNakibe (3:40:14 PM): No one minded that any, of course.
CGNakibe (3:40:27 PM): But there's always the one or two that wanted something.... different.
Idran1701 (3:40:30 PM): *nod* I imagine not. Still, though, it is something of a personal bond, I've heard.
Idran1701 (3:40:38 PM): Far beyond just the level of a pet.
CGNakibe (3:40:52 PM): *shrugs* I never managed to learn of it at home, of course, so I only hear about it.
CGNakibe (3:41:06 PM): But.... they are definitely much closer than pets from what I gather.
CGNakibe (3:41:32 PM): *chuckles* Although they have no problems with the attention that they get either, in some cases.
Idran1701 (3:42:05 PM): *laughs* No, I imagine not.
Idran1701 (3:43:05 PM): You'd likely have to cast it outside Sigil anyway, though.
CGNakibe (3:43:20 PM): Probably a good idea.
CGNakibe (3:43:33 PM): If I'm unlucky I might end up with one of those weird oozes we saw on the way back
Idran1701 (3:43:43 PM): *chuckles* No, that's not quite what I mean.
Idran1701 (3:44:11 PM): The only way in or out of the city are the Lady's portals. You can't summon anything inside, teleport into the city, open gateways,
that sort of thing.
CGNakibe (3:44:22 PM): Ah. Well, that makes sense too.
Idran1701 (3:47:14 PM): Maybe once we head out on the next lead.
CGNakibe (3:50:18 PM): *nods*
CGNakibe (3:54:51 PM): (Chibi Lilium: Arian and Karin... sitting in a tree... )
Idran1701 (3:55:05 PM): (Heh.)
Idran1701 (3:55:17 PM): *leaning back, she starts for a bit, spreading her wings before settling against the back of the chair*
...Ow. Still getting used to them a bit, I guess.
CGNakibe (3:55:44 PM): How hard is it to not injure them just sitting down? o.o
Idran1701 (3:56:30 PM): ...Oh, no, it's not that bad, really. It's more like...well, the chairs here aren't exactly built for winged people. I guess it'd be like if
you tried to sit in a chair for someone with three legs.
Idran1701 (3:56:50 PM): *she smiles* It's just a little uncomfortable is all. It's sweet that you're concerned, though.
CGNakibe (3:57:21 PM): *blushes* I just... er.... >.>;;;
CGNakibe (3:59:51 PM): Er.. *cough* I... I wonder if the others are enjoying themselves as much.
CGNakibe (4:00:04 PM): IM: So awkward. >.<
Idran1701 (4:00:11 PM): *she chuckles a bit* You already said that, you know.
CGNakibe (4:00:24 PM): Er... yes... yes I did, didn't I?
CGNakibe (4:00:44 PM): A bad sign when one starts to repeat oneself.
CGNakibe (4:01:10 PM): IM: Well, she hasn't run away from me yet, that's gotta be good, right? ^^;;;
Idran1701 (4:03:00 PM): *she thinks for a bit, speaking up as she blushes a little herself* We're both a little...new at this, aren't we?
CGNakibe (4:03:53 PM): At least we're both... I mean... enjoying things... right?
Idran1701 (4:04:10 PM): I think we are, yes.
CGNakibe (4:04:34 PM): That's... good. *smiles*
CGNakibe (4:06:31 PM): (They are sort of a cute awkward couple, aren't they?)
Idran1701 (4:07:44 PM): (Heh. I'd say so, yes.)
Idran1701 (4:08:02 PM): ...Do you think we'll get more...used to things over time?
Idran1701 (4:08:12 PM): (They're both a bit young, of course, which helps to excuse it.)
CGNakibe (4:08:30 PM): I... I think so. I'm not sure...
Idran1701 (4:11:18 PM): ...*she laughs a bit* Well, I hope we do.
CGNakibe (4:12:06 PM): *chuckles as well* I've been less nervous at appearances by the King...
Idran1701 (4:13:06 PM): You've met the king at your home? Well, that sounds impressive.
CGNakibe (4:13:22 PM): Well, seen him in passing, is all.
CGNakibe (4:13:36 PM): At the time he was... very imposing.
Idran1701 (4:15:00 PM): *nods* I can imagine.
Idran1701 (4:17:16 PM): I've never really been in a situation like that, myself. Meeting a real high-up somewhere.
CGNakibe (4:18:08 PM): *nods* You get used to them being this far away... thing, I hate to say, that affects you in some vague manner.
Idran1701 (4:18:27 PM): *nods* Even more so here, I'd say.
Idran1701 (4:19:23 PM): The beings that really effect how things work out here, they're even further above us.
CGNakibe (4:20:38 PM): Hm. That's got to be odd.
CGNakibe (4:21:11 PM): Having your life occasionally upturned by something you can't see but that is everywhere around you. So to speak.
Idran1701 (4:21:37 PM): *nod*
Idran1701 (4:27:17 PM): It makes you feel a little helpless for a while...but then I see people that came from my level that really do influence things today.
People like Factol Montgomery here...she's the leader of the Sensates.
CGNakibe (4:27:40 PM): What's she like?
Idran1701 (4:30:11 PM): Oh, she's an...amazing woman. Excitable, but focused on the goal when she needs be. The epitome of the Sensate way of life,
really. Always looking for something new, but not for to the point of hedonism like some of our membership.
CGNakibe (4:33:05 PM): That's a good philosophy to have. One that encourages learning of all sorts.
Idran1701 (4:42:24 PM): *nods* It is, yes. That's one of the reasons I love being a part of this faction. IT really encourages taking in as much about the
planes as you can.
CGNakibe is idle at 4:43:06 PM.
CGNakibe is no longer idle at 4:44:49 PM.
Idran1701 (4:44:49 PM): ...Maybe you'd be interested in membership here yourself? I know learning's important to you...
CGNakibe (4:46:18 PM): This certainly is an interesting place. But I'm not quite sure.... I'd have to think about it, at least.
Idran1701 (4:48:29 PM): Well, I won't pressure you, or anything like that. I know a lot of the factioneers here in Sigil can be rough with that.
CGNakibe (4:49:42 PM): Or downright rude in some cases.
Idran1701 (4:49:50 PM): *chuckles* Yes, that too.
Idran1701 (4:50:45 PM): It's a balance of power type thing, really. The factions like to pretend they rule Sigil, so they throw their weight around, keep their
kriegstantz.
Idran1701 (4:51:02 PM): Honestly, sometimes I think they should keep in mind they might manage it, but they don't rule it.
CGNakibe (4:51:47 PM): To some it probably doesn't matter anyway. As long as they get to shove their weight around at someone else's expense.
Idran1701 (4:53:19 PM): *nods* True. Luckily, our factol seems fairly even-headed about that. We might have something of a feud with the Fated, but
not much beyond that.
Idran1701 (4:56:10 PM): We have a few disagreements here and there, but that's it. I've never much been able to stand the Dustmen or the Bleak Cabal,
myself. Too depressing, them.
CGNakibe (4:56:34 PM): Well, when we visited the Dustmen they seemed much more eager to hear about Lilium anyway than any of us.
Idran1701 (4:56:43 PM): Oh, I can imagine that.
CGNakibe (4:56:54 PM): Perhaps if we were dead too their interest would be piqued. e.e
Idran1701 (4:57:09 PM): *she chuckles*
Idran1701 (4:57:16 PM): I take it you didn't care much for them either?
CGNakibe (4:57:25 PM): *sighs* Not much at all, no.
CGNakibe (4:57:39 PM): Though they weren't TOO terrible, I admit. Just depressing and rude.
Idran1701 (4:57:55 PM): *nod*
Idran1701 (4:58:10 PM): If you thought they were rude, I suppose it's lucky you didn't get yourself involved with the Bleakers.
CGNakibe (4:58:46 PM): They're worse, I take it?
Idran1701 (4:59:18 PM): The way they say things, the multiversefalls apart as time passes anyway, so why try to stop it?
Idran1701 (4:59:25 PM): A few of them even try speeding it along.
CGNakibe (4:59:52 PM): Wonderful.
CGNakibe (5:01:22 PM): At least I can respect the Dustmen's approach a bit more; THEY seemed interested in life, if only in not ending it before its time.
Idran1701 (5:01:47 PM): *nods* That is true, yes.
CGNakibe (5:02:18 PM): For these.... Bleakers... apparently waiting isn't good enough.
Idran1701 (5:02:37 PM): Well, some of them. The rest are content to just let things fall apart on their own.
CGNakibe (5:03:45 PM): Hmm.
Idran1701 (5:05:15 PM): *she shakes her head* I just try to ignore them, myself. I don't usually walk through the Hive anyway...not exactly the safest of
spots for a person to walk unattended. Even less so for a woman.
Idran1701 (5:05:25 PM): I'm surprised you and your friends haven't been jumped there, honestly.
CGNakibe (5:05:38 PM): *shrugs* Luck, I guess.
Idran1701 (5:06:07 PM): *she smiles* Well, I hope it keeps up. I'd hate for something to happen to you all.
CGNakibe (5:06:31 PM): (Dun dun DUNNNN)
CGNakibe (5:06:49 PM): (Arian: What was that crack of thunder I just heard? 9.9;; )
Idran1701 (5:06:55 PM): (Am I allowed to break Rule Zero on myself?)
CGNakibe (5:06:58 PM): So would I.
CGNakibe (5:07:12 PM): (That's an excellent question!)
Idran1701 (5:09:37 PM): *her smile gets a bit more nervous as she turns a little red again* You know, they do have quarters here for guests...it might not
be as familiar as that Hive inn, but it's safer, at least.
CGNakibe (5:10:26 PM): Really? Are.... are you sure I could... um... well... *blush*
Idran1701 (5:11:03 PM): ...Oh, no, I mean...*her own blush gets a bit deeper*...no, I mean your own room here.
CGNakibe (5:11:16 PM): <.<;;; Well... Yes... of course... Thank you.
Idran1701 (5:13:22 PM): ...*she glances a bit askance herself, still quite red-faced* I mean, not that I...we just barely know each other, is all.
CGNakibe (5:13:24 PM): *blushes* You didn't think I... I mean...
CGNakibe (5:13:37 PM): (Pervy Arian: Dammit >.<)
Idran1701 (5:13:57 PM): (Pervy Karinska: ;_;)
Idran1701 (5:14:18 PM): No, I...well, I didn't know what you...
CGNakibe (5:16:07 PM): What I meant to say was... Thank you for the room. You're... sure its okay? I mean, I don't mean to impose on you or
anything....
Idran1701 (5:16:43 PM): *chuckles a bit nervously* ...No, it's...it's no imposition. I can even cover the cost for you...the trip paid well enough.
CGNakibe (5:17:09 PM): The visit with the Modrons, as weird as it managed to be... it didn't hurt either.
Idran1701 (5:17:59 PM): ...No, it...*she frowns a bit, just slightly*...it didn't.
CGNakibe (5:18:48 PM): Although they were so... impassive about everything that it was a bit aggravating.
Idran1701 (5:19:09 PM): Well, it's...part of who they are, I suppose.
CGNakibe (5:19:18 PM): *nods*
Idran1701 (5:19:22 PM): (It's a little hilarious that the LN character was discomforted by the modrons. :D)
CGNakibe (5:19:35 PM): (Only a little? >:P)
Idran1701 (5:19:51 PM): ...I still feel bad for that...that creature, though.
CGNakibe (5:20:12 PM): *frowns* It didn't MEAN to come through into their plane just....
CGNakibe (5:20:14 PM): *sighs*
Idran1701 (5:21:12 PM): *nods, wringing her hands a little as she gives a small sigh of her own*
Idran1701 (5:22:25 PM): ...There...there wasn't anything else we could do, right?
CGNakibe (5:22:51 PM): I keep feeling like there was just... I can't seem to think of it.
Idran1701 (5:24:18 PM): ...*hugging herself a little, she nods* Maybe...maybe we should have thought more.
CGNakibe (5:25:44 PM): *shakes his head as if to clear it of the memory* I don't know. I just... don't know. Maybe if Karl were there. Or someone else.
CGNakibe (5:26:31 PM): It had to be done, but....
Idran1701 (5:26:39 PM): *nods* I guess...all we can do is learn from the experience for next time.
CGNakibe (5:26:47 PM): Yes... yes, you're right.
Idran1701 (5:28:09 PM): *she gives a smile to Arian, though it's a little tinged with sadness* One of those things I've got to better learn in this faction, I
suppose.
Idran1701 (5:28:43 PM): It's easy enough to say it when the pain's just physical...it's harder for something like this, though.
CGNakibe (5:29:09 PM): Physical pain... its easy. And you either work through it or you don't.
Idran1701 (5:29:32 PM): *nods, chuckling a little* I've had more than a few experiences with that.
Idran1701 (5:31:00 PM): I don't think I could ever reach the point of seeking these out, though...our factol says that every experience is important, the good
alongside the bad, but...I don't know.
CGNakibe (5:32:48 PM): *shrugs* I'm not sure many would seek these out. -.-
Idran1701 (5:33:25 PM): ...Well, she says it's as important to learn from these as the positive ones. That the only way to truly understand the planes is by
experiencing both sides of things.
CGNakibe (5:33:47 PM): That sounds very wise... its just...
CGNakibe (5:34:36 PM): It makes me wonder if this is the right thing for me. This mercenary business.
CGNakibe (5:35:01 PM): Perhaps being a knight wasn't the best idea but....
CGNakibe (5:35:21 PM): The ideas.... they're what I know now. I'm not sure I could shake them either.
Idran1701 (5:35:31 PM): *nods*
CGNakibe (5:35:42 PM): Just... I'll have to do better the next time. Its better than feeling like this.
CGNakibe (5:35:57 PM): Somehow I want to figure it out.
Idran1701 (5:36:07 PM): I know.
Idran1701 (5:36:49 PM): *blushing a little, she cautiously reaches out, taking his hand* I don't...you don't seem much like the mercenary type to me either,
Arian.
CGNakibe (5:39:28 PM): *looks up suddenly, blushing* Perhaps.... perhaps I'm not. I'm... I guess I thought.... I'm not sure what I thought now...
Idran1701 (5:42:46 PM): ...Well...you said you were planning on becoming a knight...but that doesn't mean you have to be the same sort of knight as the
others back home, does it? You don't have to be one of those...armored swordsmen.
Idran1701 (5:42:57 PM): There's no rule that says that, is there?
CGNakibe (5:43:20 PM): No, there isn't.
Idran1701 (5:44:05 PM): *she smiles a bit, still blushing a little* You could do both...study magic and become a knight.
CGNakibe (5:46:01 PM): I think... I think I'd like that.
Idran1701 (5:47:35 PM): Besides...I'm sure the other knights aren't very artistic either.
CGNakibe (5:48:25 PM): *blushes* I just scribble, is all. Nothing that special... >.>;;;
Idran1701 (5:48:47 PM): Oh, don't say that. I like your art.
CGNakibe (5:49:01 PM): You... you do? o.o
Idran1701 (5:49:53 PM): *smiles* I do. I mean...maybe it's a little rough, but I imagine you didn't have many chances to practice back home.
Idran1701 (5:50:15 PM): ...*looks a bit worried* They don't...they don't suppress artwork too there, do they?
CGNakibe (5:50:33 PM): No no, I just... don't do it that often.
Idran1701 (5:50:40 PM): Oh, good.
CGNakibe (5:51:06 PM): (Rules of Legunda: No Playing. No Happiness. No Fun.)
Idran1701 (5:51:09 PM): Well...I do, yes. I think with some more practice, it could be wonderful.
Idran1701 (5:51:12 PM): (Ha. :D)
Idran1701 (5:51:19 PM): (Also No Dancing.)
CGNakibe (5:51:32 PM): (No no. You can dance if you want to.)
CGNakibe (5:51:40 PM): (Just have to leave your friends behind.)
Idran1701 (5:51:50 PM): (Well, not a problem for Arian.)
CGNakibe (5:53:05 PM): Th... thank you.
Idran1701 (5:54:14 PM): *she blushes a bit more, rubbing his hand a bit* I'd love to see you do more of it. Maybe we could both practice our art
together.
CGNakibe (5:54:58 PM): That sounds like a great idea. *blushes, and gently holds her hand*
Idran1701 (5:56:48 PM): *she laughs nervously* We're...we're sad, aren't we?
Idran1701 (5:57:05 PM): Like a...couple of teenagers or something.
CGNakibe (5:57:08 PM): *chuckles a bit as well* The others would probably laugh at us, seeing us like this.
Idran1701 (5:58:49 PM): Well, I'm glad I got a private room for us, then.
*she laughs a bit more* I guess we can just...keep to ourselves a bit, until we can stop...turning red every few minutes.
CGNakibe (5:59:23 PM): That's just fine if you ask me.
Idran1701 (6:00:09 PM): *as irony seems to rule here, this statement itself makes her a bit red-faced, as she lets out another spout of nervous laughter*
CGNakibe (6:00:48 PM): Just... how long do you think before we CAN stop? *chuckling nervously and blushing himself*
Idran1701 (6:02:01 PM): Well...I'm not really sure. I've...seen a few people, but I've never been this bad about things. *she smiles a bit* I guess it's just
something about you.
CGNakibe (6:02:33 PM): *Blushes more, if that's possible* 6.6;;; *wow, his feet suddenly got INTERESTING*
CGNakibe (6:02:36 PM): Is that so?
Idran1701 (6:03:32 PM): ...What about you?
CGNakibe (6:04:06 PM): Just... just around you. *grins goofily for just a moment*
Idran1701 (6:05:33 PM): *Karinska blushes pretty badly herself now* Well...lucky that we...that we met, then, I guess.
CGNakibe (6:06:12 PM): Yeah. 9.9;;;
Idran1701 (6:07:42 PM): ...I'm not your...first either, am I?
CGNakibe (6:08:02 PM): Actually you... Um... kind of are... ^^;;
Idran1701 (6:09:00 PM): ...Oh. Heheh...I figured...well, you were in school and all...
CGNakibe (6:10:13 PM): What? Oh, no no.
Idran1701 (6:10:40 PM): You never really met anyone, then?
CGNakibe (6:11:05 PM): No. Not at all.
Idran1701 (6:11:57 PM): Oh. Well, then...I'm...*clears her throat, with a bit more nervous laughter*...I'm honored?
Idran1701 (6:13:23 PM): I don't really...I'm not sure what to say about that.
CGNakibe (6:14:21 PM): *chuckles nervously* Um.... >.>;;;
Idran1701 (6:15:52 PM): I guess I'll...I'll try not to move too fast for you. I mean, if I'm the first woman you've...*blushes a bit*...dated...you should have
the chance to enjoy it.
CGNakibe (6:16:36 PM): As if I don't already. ^^;;;
CGNakibe (6:16:53 PM): I mean... err....
CGNakibe (6:17:07 PM): IM: Damn you mouth!
CGNakibe (6:17:21 PM): Perhaps I.. um... could... treat you to dinner later? ^^;;
Idran1701 (6:17:57 PM): *she laughs a bit* All right. I...I think that sounds like a good idea.
Idran1701 (6:20:41 PM): Did you have somewhere in mind?
CGNakibe (6:21:04 PM): Actually... I... need to work on that... ^^;;; Unless you have somewhere in mind, that is.
Idran1701 (6:23:20 PM): Well...there's a restaurant in the Market Ward I've heard good things about...it's supposed to have something of a menagerie
theme to it. Chirper's, I think the name is.
CGNakibe (6:23:45 PM): An interesting name. Hopefully the food there is good.
Idran1701 (6:24:46 PM): *nods*
...It's been a while...maybe we should go see if the others are...
CGNakibe (6:25:26 PM): *nod nod* Yes, I suppose so.
Idran1701 (6:26:20 PM): *she stands, glancing to the floor as she brushes his hand a bit* This was...it was nice, though.
CGNakibe (6:26:50 PM): Yes, it was. 6.6;; I....
CGNakibe (6:27:03 PM): I'd like to do it again sometime. I mean, that is, if you're not busy or anything...
Idran1701 (6:27:19 PM): Oh, no, no, I'd...I'd be glad to.
Idran1701 (6:28:41 PM): ...*she begins rubbing his arm a little with her free hand, smiling nervously as she looks away* I enjoyed it...I'd love to do
something like this again.
CGNakibe (6:29:33 PM): That's... that's good... So would I.
Idran1701 (6:30:38 PM): *she laughs a bit, letting his hand go* Do you think we should...take a moment to compose ourselves? I could just imagine them
getting the...
*there's that blushing again*...the wrong idea...ahem.
CGNakibe (6:31:36 PM): *chuckles* Um... Yes... I think so. I'd rather not have them... thinking that.
Idran1701 (6:33:07 PM): *laughing a bit, she takes a moment to try to calm herself* It's...it is kind of silly, us acting like this.
CGNakibe (6:33:54 PM): *chuckles* It... kind of is.
Idran1701 (6:35:35 PM): ...*she looks just about normal...before starting to blush again, even going so far as to actually let out a small giggle, as best as she
tries to hold it in*
CGNakibe (6:36:29 PM): Its not as... easy as I thought...
Idran1701 (6:37:44 PM): *chuckles* No, it's...it's really not.
*she takes a breath*...I think I'm as well as I'll get right now.
CGNakibe (6:37:56 PM): Same here...
Idran1701 (6:38:23 PM): Well, let's...let's leave before we start tripping over ourselves again.
CGNakibe (6:40:12 PM): Yes, lets. *nods... but can't seem to keep one last nervous chuckle at bay*
Idran1701 (6:40:37 PM): *she can't help but snicker a little herself, but she opens the door for Arian anyway*
Idran1701 (6:40:53 PM): (They are almost too adorable together.)
CGNakibe (6:41:35 PM): (Yep. Happy sappy cute. And look, she has angel wings!)
Idran1701 (6:41:43 PM): (Literally! :D)
CGNakibe (6:41:45 PM): (No need for the Red Bull Potions, I suppose)
Idran1701 (6:41:49 PM): (Heh.)
Idran1701 (6:42:12 PM): (It's almost too bad, really.)
Idran1701 (6:42:17 PM): (:D)
CGNakibe (6:42:50 PM): (Uh oh. That sinister look... >.>0
Idran1701 (6:43:56 PM): (Anyway, end of RP? Or did you want to press on with their dinner that night? :O)
CGNakibe (6:43:59 PM): (Arian: Noooo! I want to LIVE!)
CGNakibe (6:44:03 PM): (And yeah, End of RP)
Idran1701 (6:44:06 PM): (*nod*)
Idran1701 (6:44:25 PM): (Well, experience is worth experience, so I'll give out 200 XP for this.)
CGNakibe (6:44:38 PM): (Good to know)
Idran1701 (6:44:54 PM): (I mean, if you don't get experience points for literal experiences, what _do_ you get it from? :D)
Idran1701 (6:45:16 PM): </RP>
Idran1701 (6:45:28 PM): Want me to send along a copy of Arian's sheet?
CGNakibe (6:45:41 PM): Yes please.
Idran1701 wants to send file C:\Games\Dungeons and Dragons\My Other Campaign\Characters\Arian_Renfield.html (6:45:53 PM).
CGNakibe received C:\Games\Dungeons and Dragons\My Other Campaign\Characters\Arian_Renfield.html (6:46:02 PM).
Idran1701 (6:46:03 PM): He's only got 400 XP to the next level at the moment.
Idran1701 (6:47:47 PM): You know, I only planned for Karinska to help Arian a bit with getting past the "rar magic evil! >:" thing; never really expected this
turn of events. :D
CGNakibe (6:48:14 PM): Neither did I, honestly. And the awkwardness surprises me too.
CGNakibe (6:48:26 PM): The way he was acting earlier you'd think he was different.
Idran1701 (6:49:05 PM): Heh. Well, it's easy to act calm and collected when there's nothing to make you act otherwise.
CGNakibe (6:49:30 PM): I blame it on the fact that he's been under a lot of stress lately.
Idran1701 (6:50:07 PM): True. Stuff like what's been happening, it'll wear on anyone.
Idran1701 (6:51:47 PM): Of course, makes it kind of funny that the person he turns to is the chick with wings. :D
CGNakibe (6:52:13 PM): Hey, he knew her before she HAD wings when she was just a weird chick.
Idran1701 (6:52:45 PM): True!
CGNakibe (6:57:21 PM): And after that, Weird Chick who was Probably Dying because of him.
CGNakibe (6:57:33 PM): Although I never would've pegged him as a guy that loves wings. >:P
Idran1701 (6:57:55 PM): Heh. He's actually fond of them, then?
CGNakibe (6:58:17 PM): Only a little. He's more fond of her. Sort of grown to like her.
CGNakibe (6:58:22 PM): But then that's obvious. >:p
Idran1701 (6:58:36 PM): :D
Idran1701 (7:01:48 PM): Well, one thing I'm glad for; makes me less worried about my NPCs being too one-dimensional, if they can surprise me like this.
Idran1701 (7:02:50 PM): Something I'd been worried about; like I told you that one time, I've never been that great with creating characters.
CGNakibe (7:03:09 PM): You're not the only one worried about that, believe me.
Idran1701 (7:03:18 PM): Oh?
CGNakibe (7:03:46 PM): Sometimes I do worry about whether or not my characters all feel like different spins on the same character.
Idran1701 (7:04:39 PM): *nod* Well, the ones I've seen, that's not too much the case, I don't think. You do a good enough job of differentiating them.
Idran1701 (7:07:45 PM): I mean, I'd be hard pressed to explain anyone calling Solis, Nakibe, and Aramis spins on the same character.
CGNakibe (7:07:57 PM): Yeah, but I can do it.
Idran1701 (7:08:44 PM): Heh. Well, I think you might be worrying about that a bit too much. Though I can understand that, since I do the same thing
about tons of things, worry too much.
CGNakibe (7:12:04 PM): Can't really help it at times.
Idran1701 (7:12:11 PM): *nod* Yeah, I know.
Idran1701 (7:13:05 PM): Though, one thing I was worried about with Karinska specifically was the fact that I've never really done a female character, PC
or NPC, besides Idran's mom. And Karinska came first, before I brought her out in Past Gen. How've I been with that so far, do you think?
CGNakibe (7:13:31 PM): I think she's worked out pretty well.
Idran1701 (7:14:59 PM): *nod* Glad to hear it. Trying to branch out more in NPCs here than just nothing but human males, like I normally stick with. I'm
hoping that'll make it easier for me to come up with characters elsewhere.
Idran1701 (7:53:27 PM): ...Oh, this is too hilarious for me to not share it. From a "sympathetic villains in games" thread:
Idran1701 (7:53:31 PM): Most of the "evil" characters in Final Fantasy 4 ended up deserving pity eventually. It got a bit tiring keeping track of who I was
still supposed to hate, and who was just another victim. Eventually I simply decided to hate absolutely everyone, just to be on the safe side.
Cecil's killing those innocent people, what a bastard!
... Oh, he's being manipulated by the King. I guess I feel sorry for him.
At least I can hate the King properly. What a dick.
... Oh, he was killed and replaced, but his ghost is still trying to help out. Poor guy.
Kain is a goddamn traitor though! I hate him.
... Oh, he's being controlled by Golbez. I guess I feel sorry for him.
Wait, Kain really is evil this time!
... Oh, wait. False alarm, that's still Golbez' fault.
Now I'm sure Golbez is behind it all! I'll kill that motherfucker!
... Oh. So there's someone controlling him too? Damn it.
Ok, now there's Uncle Zemus, the man in the fucking moon. He was controlling Golbez, and damn near everyone else I've ever met. Is it safe to hate him,
or is it going to turn out that he's a really nice guy who just happens to be under mind control from someone even weirder, with even more
incomprehensible goals? Too damn bad, I'm killing this lunar cocksucker. Don't try to stop me this time. I've had it up to here with having my wrath
regifted up the bad-guy food-chain. I'm killing this asshole until he can't get any deader, then I'm going to kill him some more. Actually, I'm killing Kain
too, just because it feels like the thing to do.
CGNakibe (7:53:59 PM): Hahah.
