LIFESPAN: 350+ yrs

ORIGINAL CREATOR(S) / EXPERT(S): Vampire Jester Jinx, Archmage144
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

bluish tinted skin; white or light colored hair usually; height comparable to humans; pointed ears

SPECIAL SKILLS:

heightened dexterity, agility; innate magical affinities (particularly towards death and necromancy); can see in the total absence of light, but not in color, and can visually detect heat sources

MISC:
Dhargun by artist Deeum

Drow usually prefer to live underground, away from the light. They construct vast cities there, cultivating native lichens as a major food crop along with other subterranean plant species. The drow were created by the dark gods--they are the children of the first high elven king and queen, corrupted by unholy power. Most other elves, in particular high elves and wood elves, harbor a deep-seated hatred for the drow. Drow typically keep the same flame of hate burning on their end, as well.
Despite their origins on Ka'thalar, drow have spread across many other Gaeran continents and build settlements wherever they can find (or create) caverns large enough to support them.

drow, Alahi
LIFESPAN: 350+ years
CONCERNED DEITY (DEITIES): Gaera
ORIGINAL CREATOR(S) / EXPERT(S): Nekogami
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

extremely dark skin as to appear black; hair color is normally red, blond, silver, or black; eye color is normally any shades of yellow, orange, or red -- white eyes are rarer but possible; pointed ears

SPECIAL SKILLS:

swift-footed; keen-eyed; shadow and water magic affinity

MISC:

Often called the "Ebony Drow" because of their skin, the Alahi drow come from the island chain of Alahana in Argovia. The Alahi are both tribal and sophisticated. Great importance is put on accomplishments of both an individual and the family group. Somewhat war-like, both male and female Alahi are expected to go out in the world and acquire great victories to bring to the race. They believe that Gaera rewards victories and will place the Alahi accordingly after death. They're goal upon rebirth is to reach "portuna," their equivalent of nirvana. Determined yet patient, the Alahi have no fear of death and dying and a blurred division between right and wrong.

grey elf
LIFESPAN: 5000+ yrs
CONCERNED DEITY (DEITIES): {{{deity}}}
ORIGINAL CREATOR(S) / EXPERT(S): Elementalist Daien
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

white, grey, light blue, silver or similarly light-colored hair; purple, silver, green or similarly colored eyes; thin build; slightly taller than humans; pointed ears

SPECIAL SKILLS:

agility; affinity for magic; affinity for nontraditional magic (transmutation, elementalism, astral magic, etc.)

MISC:

The grey elves are a less common race in comparison to some other races of elves. The grey elves are rather variated, unlike most elves, in that they are able to have affinity to either holy or dark, or any other type of magic for that matter. They are usually rather serious and can be determined to the point of seeming obsessive. Religion-wise, they usually believe in gods, but do not worship any of them, therefore, it's hard to find a grey elf priest. They also usually have a strong sense of patriotism, and believe that all in their race are to be treated equally. When it comes to other races, this is usually upheld, but the grey elves can be rather vengeful, and for the least provocation, this ideal can be easily forgotten.

high elf
LIFESPAN: see misc
CONCERNED DEITY (DEITIES): Falis
ORIGINAL CREATOR(S) / EXPERT(S): FlamingDeth
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

slightly taller than humans; slight build; somewhat pale complexion; dark hair (black or dark brown); light colored eyes; pointed ears

SPECIAL SKILLS:

heightened agility, dexterity; affinity for holy magic

MISC:

High elves, unlike most other races, continue to produce all cells at a constant rate, including nerve cells, long after even other elven races, allowing them to live for extended periods of time. However, as damaged brain cells are replaced, information contained within is shifted around between cells, and as a result, older high elves tend to have problems concentrating, and/or suffer from chronic memory loss. Also, this cellular regeneration allows high elves to have an overactive immune system. (NOTE: Due to current Gaeran technology, that bit is not known. Instead, it is just generally thought that high elves are "ageless") They also have an extremely long gestation period, actually taking multiple decades for a child to be born, something which most high elven women don't look forward to. High elves generally prefer to live in plains or forests. They also generally prefer occupations in either government or clergy, though it's hardly uncommon for a high elf to assume other occupations.

leprechaun
LIFESPAN: 300 yrs
CONCERNED DEITY (DEITIES): {{{deity}}}
ORIGINAL CREATOR(S) / EXPERT(S): KingOfDoma
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

average height is one foot tall; basically human appearance save for generally lanky frames, with slightly oversized heads

SPECIAL SKILLS:

slight magical affinity; natural luck; high alcohol tolerance; about every one in 200 is incredibly gifted with electronics and machinery

MISC:

The leprechauns are native to an island called Eire, far to the northeast. They live in general peace and harmony with the land, despite having a technological prodigy come along now and then. The leprechauns live underground, in conditions comparable to that of traditional halflings. They are not good fighters, but make up for it in feistiness, resilience, and cleverness. Leprechauns are essentially a specialized form of elf, but their location, size, and general low population distinguish them from other elven races.

sand elf
LIFESPAN: 350 yrs
CONCERNED DEITY (DEITIES): see information
ORIGINAL CREATOR(S) / EXPERT(S): Elementalist Daien
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

shorter than other elves, usually around the same height as humans; typical elven characteristics; tanned skin; brown, black, or else light-colored hair; blue, brown, or green eyes

SPECIAL SKILLS:

heightened agility, slightly more inclined towards magic

MISC:

Sand elves, while numerous, still do not amount to the number of high elves and the other major elf races. These elves are usually a very friendly people (of course, there are exceptions) and usually also very trusting. The sand elves are known for the fact that settlements built by them are few and far between. Mostly, these people are known to integrate in other societies, and move from one place to another, which is why they have no single deity, since they, most of the time, follow the religion of the place they originated from, or where they have been residing. They are well-known, however, as exquisite craftsmen and architects, and the few towns they build are a sight to behold. Their name, "sand elves", originates from two things. Firstly, it is in reference to the color of their skin, and secondly, the fact that they are known to prefer warmer climates, and are rather attuned with the desert environment. Compared to other elves, these people are rather simplistic in their lifestyle, as they do not delve into deep things like the grey elves' fascination with magic, or the wood elves' connection with nature.

wood elf
LIFESPAN: 350+ yrs
CONCERNED DEITY (DEITIES): Tunare
ORIGINAL CREATOR(S) / EXPERT(S): Archmage144
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

humanoid; somewhat short of height (average at 5' 6"); moderately sleight build; pale to tan skin tones; often have slightly melodic voices; pointed ears

SPECIAL SKILLS:

heightened dexterity, agility; slight magical resistance; general affinity for nature

MISC:

Wood elves are fun-loving creatures, taking special notice and care of the arts and music. Since they have longer lifespans than humans, they typically spend much of their time relaxing, and at a less frantic pace. Wood elves are so named because of their tendency to build settlements in forested areas, though this is not always the case. Most wood elves are good natured, and tend to have less of a "regal" air than some other species. In fact, some wood elves have married and or had children with humans--something most other elven races look down upon within their own circles.
